From the very first page you are drawn into the life of Kourosh and his family as they return to Iran, only to find the Revolution just starting and the country on the brink of war. This story follows the family as they try to settle in to life in Iran, surrounded by loving family and increasing amounts of soldiers. When war with Iraq erupts, the family have some very difficult decisions to make. Should they stay in Iran and keep the family together? Or do they leave and return to Australia, leaving behind their eldest son Kourosh who is of conscription age? Mirror From Stone is engrossing and well written, easily taking you along for the journey with Kourosh and his family.

I think this is a brillant betrayl of life in a warn torn islamic country under going revolution and change and how much we take for granted living in a lucky country like Australia.

As previous reviews have suggested its hard to put this book down once you read the first page.
