This ep is a bridge between "Crookt, Crakt, or Fly" and "Upgrade & Afterlife". The bolts are tightened a bit, as the minimal meandering of "Crookt" is replaced by more purposeful arrangements. While not yet in "Upgrade" territory, this disc is worth buying if only for "Eight Corners", one of Grubbs' minimal piano numbers that gradually adds layers so subtly that you don't even notice they're there until an O'Rourke tape-loop of squawling-geese horns climaxes the track. A must for completists.
