Nora Ness was born in South Germany. She was recognizing for her affinity to exhibitionism very early in life. Whenever a camera was around, Nora was the first you would find in front of it. At the age of 16 she began her career in front of her friend's camera, where already she preferred to be naked. She was always dreaming of the image that would display the natural beauty of her body authentically, openly and honestly. But then university, where she studied chemistry, called and her dreams had to be put on hold for a long time. Although she jobbed as a model during her studies, she never found a photographer who imaged her body how she had imagined in her fantasies so often. Nora was looking for something very special. She was tired of following instructions to find the photographer's preferred position. She was tired of looking nice, cool, clean and without any emotion. For a long time, Nora wasn't in contact with photography, although she never gave up posing in front of a camera whenever she had the opportunity. After graduating she worked in her chosen field of science for many satisfying years. In 2001 Nora decided to make a career change and swapped over to working as a Scientific Editor & Consultant. She also started her first self portraits, at first she was a little bit anxious, but over time she became more and more confident. She soon discovered how to pose in front of the mirror and when to press the shutter to capture the right moment with the camera. She also recognized that seeing and being seen by herself, and the camera, gave her a very special kick. The provocation she captures in her images is also an important aspect of her work. She uses the mirror to let people look into the mendacious morality of our society and best of all she does it with great style. Nora uses neither artificial light nor any special styling. Her body, some accessories, and especially her real emotions create an atmosphere which more and more people find arousing.
