Joe is the quiet giant!!,
This review is from: Mirrors (Audio CD)
Joe Chambers has played with the giants (Hubbard, Henderson, Shorter) and surely ranks amongst the greatest, as drummer, composer and innovator of the jazz idiom. Read the sleeve of some of their albums, and Joe Chambers is the man who penned some of the material on their classic albums. On this album, my favourite, he is joined by more contemporary greats, Ira Coleman, Vincent Herring, Mulgrew Miller and Eddie Henderson, and his compositions are out there.. from straight up jazz like Caravanserai or more avante guard Circles, to the smooth jazz hit Lady in My Life (a beauty!) Joe and combo deliver.. the goods. This is an album that is worthy of your troppo island collection.. LISTEN UP!
