On this 1986 Sandra album, one can hear traces of the group Enigma slightly emerging ( for those who did not know, this album was produced by Enigma co-founder Michael Cretu in which Sandra would also do vocals for the group in 1990). Mirrors is a fine example why Sandra is often referred to as the European Madonna. Listen to some of the tracks on Mirrors and you will also hear a few hints or influences of Madonna's Like A Virgin and True Blue albums. Ignore a few of the mispronounced words in the lyrics as well as some of the incorrect useage of certain verbs and their tenses and enjoy the album. Due to translation of lyrics from German to English, Sandra's albums would be an English professor's dream come true for correcting grammatical errors.However, judge the album by its dated cheery mid-eighties pop sound and vocals and you can hear why Sandra was and is still very popular in Europe if not worldwide. Tracks that stand out are "Loreen" (about a friend in need ballad), "The Second Day-Break Up of the World" (pre-Enigma sound), "Hi, Hi, Hi" ( Paula Abdul-esque), "Innocent Love", "Two Lovers Tonight", "Mirrors of Love" ( very 80's pop tunes- yet enjoyable)! Not her best album; However, definitely not her worst !...Worthy of Three Stars !

Actually, I am surprised to see this album have a low rating here on amazon.com. I happened to stumble across Sandra as I was checking out some of the 80s hits that I have listened to when I was a kid. Sandra released three albums during the 80s: "Long Play", "Mirrors" (this album) and "Into a secret land" - all these albums were big hits, not only in Europe but also in India and Japan.

Her first album was a big hit that rocketed her to the top of the charts. Her second album "Mirrors" is very similar in style to her first & I thoroughly enjoyed every song of it - it was an amazing nostalgic experience as I was listening through the songs. But many people seem to have a negative opinion about this album - but I can understand why they feel that way, because they are probably not like the typical 80s Europop freaks like I and my friends happen to be. If you are one, then I strongly recommend you to get this album - trust me, you will never regret it.

I'm a big fan of Sandra, I love all of her CD's. She just has a great music for me, never get bored with it.
