I like this CD and I use it as the basis of a guided meditation nearly every day. I find the meditation useful for relaxation and healing, but, so far, I haven't had any great revelations about prior lives.

The book and CD are not for everyone.

I bought this book primarily for the CD-based regression session. I was quite disappointed. The entire CD consists of one track that lasts just short of 22 minutes.

During the session, Dr.Weiss used only the most lightweight hypnotic induction techniques on this CD and had a tendency to rush through them. So, the depth of focus is not really adequate for deep recall.

Furthermore, Dr.Weiss spent almost no time at all exploring the other-life setting: "Find another life, look at your shoes, look at your clothes, do you remember dying? -- okay, time to wake up."

The whole 22-minute session felt more like a group demonstration during a public lecture on reincarnation. Very disappointing.

The book and CD are not for everyone.

I believe that Dr. Weiss himself would agree that someone -- especially someone with serious problems -- who is able to obtain the help of a therapist who is skilled in regression techniques would likely be better off with therapy. But, alas, not everyone is able to do so.

People who are looking for a in-depth examination of reincarnation, from a psychiatrist's point of view, should read Dr. Weiss's other books first. That will give the reader an opportunity to decide if this book/CD might be useful.

The book is really just a longish guide to the method of regression through a guided meditation.

The guided meditation on the CD is indeed fairly short. It takes me about half-hour from start to finish to do the meditation. That works for me, as I do the meditation once a day, sometimes twice a day.

For those who are looking for a very long guided meditation, this CD won't suit you.

It seems to me that this is a rather gentle way for people to connect with the unconscious. The goal is to increase awareness, not to dodge responsibility for what one has done in this life by casting blame on some other life.

What you get with this book is a guide to the methods, and merits, of a guided meditation for relaxation, healing, and past-life regression, plus the CD with the meditation. That's it. It has been a good value from my point of view, but it won't suit everybody's needs.

Regression therapy is a useful psychological tool used to help one heal; however, depending on the situation, going back in time and revisiting one's past can evoke overwhelming memories which can be extremely painful to resurrect. As a counsellor, regression therapy is not a form of therapy I would recommend every individual attempt to undertake on their own. It is a form of therapy generally used under professional guidance.

While the author indicates that over time, the "symptoms diminish", for some individuals, the symptoms can get a whole lot worse before they even begin to diminish, particularly in the case of past traumatic events, such as childhood abuse. While I agree with the author's philosophy in principle, the book is really far too short (less than one hundred pages) on a complex subject to be of significant benefit, and for that reason it is not a book I would recommend to anyone with a serious problem. If we could magically resolve and come to terms with past events by reading a book of 92 pages, how beautiful life would be. I give the author three stars for explaining the value and importance of regression therapy as a means of dealing with emotional issues. However, the book also loses three stars because it gives the impression regression therapy is little more than a simple self-administered process, and by "flipping the emotional switch" one is instantly freed from the trials, burdens and tribulations of their past. In reality, there is no instant cure, and the process of serious regression therapy is not quite as effortless, simple and pain-free as the book implies.

Too little information. Lacks meat. Had I seen it on a shelf in a bookstore I would never have purchased it. Takes 10 minutes to read cover to cover. The only redeeming characteristic is the CD. It will at least help the insomniac. ...

I have read several of Dr. Weiss' books, which I found highly enlightening and inspiring. However, this CD was not nearly on the same level.

My main complaint is that it was too short. I don't see how Dr. Weiss can expect anyone to have an in-depth experience when the CD does not put you into a trance long enough for any real results to happen. What I have had to do is create my own CD that allows more time. I could have done that from the beginning and not spent any money.

Otherwise, it was a soothing CD that did relax me. If you are looking for a real regression experience, this is not the one. As someone else said, you would probably be better off seeing a therapist in person for a real session.

I've read all of Dr. Weiss' books. This CD lacks the depth that the books seem to lack. Past Life Regression requires a professional to assist the client/patient with containment. My hat is off to those who choose to share the skills it takes to send us on the journey to healing. I would recommend Michael Newton PhD. He doesn't state 10 times in his books that he has a Phd, nor does he come across as pompous and he understands that trancework requires both the patient and the client to participate in communicating with guides. Be there, know that!

This is a terrific book -- clear and concise. It explains the process and philosophy of regression therapy, and it answers a lot of questions that I had.

I have been reading Dr. Weiss's books and using his CDs for several years. I don't have any specific problems, but by using the CDs I have gained a lot of insight into my life. They have given me peace and understanding. The one included with this book is my favorite.

I wish I could rate Mirrors of Time even higher!

I have never experienced such fulfillment as I did when I read, and experienced the exercises in Brian Weiss' his new book, Mirrors of Time. It's such an incredible compilation of exercies, and they have changed my life. I'm so thankful for this book, and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone who wants to live the best life possible, THIS TIME. The chapter on transforming relationships should be printed and handed out on every street corner. Thank you Brian, for such a great gift!

I love working with the CD that is included in Dr. Weiss' book Mirrors of Time. Not only is the CD for regression work, but their is a beautiful healing section within the regression. As a sufferer of Fibromyalgia, I found this CD to be very refreshing, and well worth the price of the book alone. I hope you enjoy it as I do.

I love Brian Weiss' books and found them very informative. This cd, on the other hand, is mostly a waste of money. It starts out ok, as he relaxes you and get you hypnotized, although even this part seems very rushed and that makes it hard to relax. If you have ever really been hypnotized/regressed by a professional you know that it can take a long time for your mind to follow instructions when hypnotized. He then takes you to a garden. By this time I was feeling irritable because he was rushing along so fast. Then he takes you through childhood and early childhood memories. Then you are put back in the garden where you are told to visualize mirrors and pick one. This was impossible for me to see and it didn't even make sense. I had to use a hallway with doors instead and choose a door. Then you are in a past life and it goes like this : look down at your shoes, look at your clothes, look around you at the buildings or landscape. Stay here as long as you want, ok wake up now 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. The whole "past life" part was UNDER 3 MINUTES LONG! There is NO WAY you can get anything accomplished in 3 minutes except for a very brief glimpse, plus he's talking the whole time so you can't really focus. He of all people should know that you cant see a whole lifetime in 3 minutes. The entire cd is 21 minutes long, and frankly it takes most people this long just to get deeply relaxed, much less be rushed through all these memories.

I am going to use an editor and try to make big silences in between his talking so maybe I can get something out of this.
