This review is from: Misconception (Paperback)
Misconception is about Miranda, who has been through numerous surgeries trying to be able to walk again. Her last surgery works, but unfortunately unbeknowst to her, her father has gambled all of his money away leaving them soon to be poor and homeless. The "hero", Brett Deakin, who is purchasing the home along with her father's company comes to their home to look it over. Miranda's father and Aunt Alice come up with the plan for Miranda to pretend to be crippled so that they could stay at their home longer. Due to past experiences in his life it appears to be working, but it seems that he is also interested in Miranda and asks her to marry him after a couple of dates. Well Brett catches Miranda walking, so naturally he is quite enraged that she has deceived him so he blackmails her into marrying him.

******spoilers*****
I love this author and most of her books. Yes, the men are extremely macho and sometimes on the verge of being animals. What I didn't like about this book is that the hero (i.e. d*uchebag) was such a pig. Here he was with a virginal wife whom he "forces" to have sex with and can't keep it in his pants. While his wife was made to stay in the Bahamas he was dating other women, "since they'd married, he admitted, if only to himself, he had been to bed with another woman, trying to prove Miranda meant little to him....he found no pleasure with her" (the woman he cheated on his wife with). And when the grand getting back together happens he never even mentions this. What woman if she suspected him of being unfaithful wouldn't ask??? I mean only ostritches (sp?) hide their heads in the sand. I just thought it was unbelievable and so were the characters....
