A FIERY PASSION FOUND IN AN UNUSUAL PLACE!, October 21, 1998
By A Customer
Gabe is hiding from the world and Conard County seems the perfect place to do it. He hadn't counted on the resident spinster, Miss Emmaline Conard. The horrors of her past are coming back to haunt her and she needs his help. But can he keep the distance he needs or will they fall in love? Rachel Lee has outdone herself again. A totally addictive story that I couldn't put down.

good but not great, May 28, 2004
This book was very promising. An enigmatic hero and an antisocial heroine, both with trouble in their pasts. Throw in a series of disturbing incidents, a stalker, and a cult, and things can't go wrong, right? No.
Although this was a good book up until near the end, the action wrapped itself up too quickly and the resolution lacked realism. I don't know if there was a page limit or something, but the conclusion of this novel left me unfulfilled. All in all, it is not a waste of money, but don't expect to read the second "Jane Eyre"

Love and Passion Smolders in Rachel Lee's Conard County, December 8, 2009
Fans of the Rachel Lee Conard County series will love this deep, dark, and brooding complex contemporary romance set in the wilds of Wyoming.
The scene is November entering December just before Christmas in Conard County when Emmaline Conard (yes, Conard County legacy and heritage) with town's Hell's Archangle, Gabe Dalton encounter each other in chance circumstances which leave their mutual mark on each other...
Both Emmaline, aka "Miss Emmaline" as she is known in town because she is Conard City's librarian, has a troubled past, as does Gabe. Her troubled past is buffered more with memory amnesia. Gabe has already remembered all of his past, has moved to Conard County, and yet keeps his life a mystery to most of the town.
Part of what I love about Rachel Lee's romance novels is that she incorporates some mystery, twists, and turns into her ROMANCE plots, so they elicit a full range of emotions in me while I am delightedly reading her books. Most of our lives do not have all of those emotions. Typically life is filled with the frustrations with the job, striving to keep it in the current economy, caring children we love who are still often ungrateful... so the emotional range which Ms. Lee stimulates within me with her story telling is marvelous reprieve from "ordinary life."
Warning: Block out your reading time! I find when I am reading her captivating novels, I cannot and do not want to put them DOWN for long periods of time. You will want to devote your weekend and a pot of well-brewed tea to reading "Miss Emmaline and The ArchAngel."
