Bibi, the Countess of Norwick, would love to give her husband the one thing he really wants for Christmas: a ceasefire between her and his intractable sister. Facing Lady Troll during the holidays without reinforcements, however, would be foolish, and Bibi is no fool. She calls upon her dearest friends, Amelia and Jake Hillary, and a few more familiar faces to spend Christmas in Kent to help make the season a little brighter. First time I paid any attentions to our hero was in the scene in which Jake, his brother, walks in on him while he `had his butter churned'! Well, how can I not be interested in a man like that and in a woman that would bring him to heel?

As the story opens, we follow our heroine Lisette Lavigne as she escapes her fiancé in the
middle of the night, with her family in tow and in a search of Captain Daniel Hillary, who she hopes will take them to England and to safety.

Captain Daniel Hillary is drop dead gorges and a scoundrel who loves two simple pleasures in life, a woman's supple curves and his Indiaman ship, not necessarily in that order. He's just given his mistress her marching orders and is looking forward to leaving New Orleans when Lisette, all dressed in black and impersonating a widow, confronts him.

We've met Daniel in the previous books and I wondered about the woman Ms. Grace would give him. He certainly needed a strong counterpart but I also wanted someone that has charm and wit. Lis, as he keeps calling her, was a perfect match for him. This young woman proved to be made of stern stuff, yet when it came to her brother's needs, displaying her vulnerable side made our hero want to protect her from anyone that meant them harm. It also revealed to us a secret or two he not only kept it from us, but from his family as well. We finally get to know what's behind his `devil may care' guilt ridden attitude and why he never allows any women passengers on his ship [unless they're his family, that is].

Something about Lis touches his protective heart and he agrees to take her in but also making sure that this `widow' is aware of his attraction to her.

This is the second book I've read in this series and it is was even better than I expected. I loved the characters and the unexpected twist at the end. I loved the character of BeBe as well. It was nice to have not only the two main character's story line, but BeBe's as well. I couldn't put it down. At first I thought that Jake was a little soft (but really hot), but when you kept reading, it became clear very quickly he really was just a great man trying to do the right thing for his family and the love of his life. Can't wait to read Daniel's story.

Lisette Lavigne is out of options. All she wants is to protect the people she cares for and she has run out of solutions. Lisette will do whatever it takes to get her family on a ship bound for England immediately. If she stays in New Orleans she will be subjugated by the man seeking to claim her and her inheritance.

Captain Daniel Hillary is a powerful man with a fleet of ships at his disposal but he has one rule: No women on board. However, Daniel finds it hard to deny the beautiful Miss Lavigne. The one time he breaks his own rules Daniel may find himself in over his head. There is more to Miss Lavigne than meets the eye and Daniel is determined to uncover all of her secrets.

Lisette and Daniel may find love on the trip to England but will they be able to survive the vengeful man she left behind?

Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie is witty, suspenseful and utterly romantic. There are so many things that I like about this story. It's fast-paced and so darn sweet. It's impossible not to fall in love with Lisette and Daniel. Their romance is wonderful! Ms. Grace tells Lisette and Daniel's story in vivid detail. I felt like I was on board Daniel's ship with them. I could smell the ocean air and feel the boat sway in the water.

This is my first trip into Ms. Grace's Beau Monde Bachelor series and now I cannot wait to read another one! It's not necessary to have read the first two books to follow this one. Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie is delightfully entertaining. The characters are stand-out and the plot line is intense and beautiful.

Samantha Grace gives us a classy historical romance with Miss Lavigne's Little White Lie!

It's official. After the third installment of the Beau Monde series, author Samantha Grace has proven it's impossible for her to disappoint. MISS LAVIGNE'S LITTLE WHITE LIE is a dazzling historical romance!

After Lisette Lavigne's dangerous fiancé threatens to lock her brother in an asylum, she will do anything to leave her beloved New Orleans. Running to England is not an ideal situation, but Lisette needs to protect herself and her brother at any cost. When she meets the handsome Captain Daniel Hillary, she thinks her prayers are answered, but she is shocked when he won't allow women on board his ship.

Since he is the only one leaving for England tomorrow, Lisette realizes a few little lies might help secure their passage...such as promising to warm the Captain's bed. Now that they are on their way, Lisette's lies start to unravel around her. While Lisette knows it would be best to ignore Daniel, she can't seem to stay away. With danger following her across the ocean, she needs a protector and Daniel Hillary is more than willing to play the part.

Samantha Grace has again delivered a fabulous historical romance. It is so refreshing to read a novel with the right amount of emotion, the right of amount of drama and of course the right amount of romance. Added all together, it makes MISS LAVIGNE'S LITTLE WHITE LIE a novel you never want to end. With such well-written and rounded characters along with thrilling plot twists, you never know what to expect next. This delicious novel just captivates your attention and never lets go.

Lisette...sweet, feisty, stubborn Lisette. I knew from the previous novels in this series that Daniel would need a fierce woman at his side and Lisette did not disappoint.
