Whenever my students see my outside of the school setting, they are always shocked. This book is about a boy was sure all the teachers lived at school, ate dinner in the cafeteria, slept in the lounge, etc., until his teacher moves in to his apartment building. Oh no!! He not only sees her carrying out garbage, but sees her wearing sandals that reveal she has TOES!! This is cute for kids (who still may persist in believing teachers live at school), and it would be an ideal gift for the soon-to-be-teacher. Funny text and pictures make this a winner for 6-8 year olds.

This is a hilarious story about one boy who thinks his teacher lives at school. We get to see what teachers "really" do when students leave. What is the real reason why the teachers lounge is so mysterious?? Judy Finchler answers this question and many more through the eyes of one boy. Kevin O'Malley's illustrations capture each moment perfectly. His use of colors and shades to create a story within the pictures make this book an excellent one to have in every classroom. My students and family loved this book!! It's always brought out when we need to have a good laugh:)

If you are a teacher, this book is a must have!! This book shows students that teachers have a life outside of school. How many of us can remember seeing our teacher in an outing in town, and wonder what they were doing outside of school? This book is an EXCELLENT book for the classroom teacher to have.

...All of the kids in room 10 think that all of the teachers live in the school. Until one day, their teacher moves into to the same apartment building as one of the students. The student tries to prove to some of the students that the teachers don't really live at the school, and he does. I think this is a great book and I hope that you get to read it some day too...

This book is a fiction book. The title of this book is Miss malarkey Livesin Room 10. The author of this book is Judy Finchler. In this book the main characters are Miss malarkey and the kids.

First the kids think that Miss Malarkey lives in the school. Another thing the kids think is that the teachrs play in the gym after they eat dinner. Next they say that the teachers sleep in the teachers room. Lastly there teacher moves into one of the kids apartments...You must read the book to find out what happens next.

I like this book because it was pretty funny. I would recommend this book to people who like funny books about teachers living at school.

My children really like this book and now I find myself wanting to buy more in the series.

This is an adorable book that is so true about the perspective of elementary kids. I fell in love with the page where all of the teachers are wearing "gym clothes" and playing in the gym afterhours. It was after their meals in teh cafeteria and then before bed they are all lined up in pajamas and robes at the drinking fountain waiting to brush their teeth. This was a darling story.

This is a delightful story that dispels a common myth among young children - that their teacher really doesn't live at school. The story opens by describing what the narrator thinks about his teacher, Miss Malarkey's, life after the school day ends. The narrator believes that Miss Malarkey grades papers and prepares for the next day in her classroom while wearing pajamas, eats dinner in the cafeteria and sits at the best table, then goes to sleep in the teacher's room. These ideas are dispelled, however, when Miss Malarkey moves into the narrator's apartment building. The narrator sees that Miss Malarkey walks around her apartment barefoot, takes out the garbage, and even throws parties and dinners. The narrator tries to convince his classmates of this; however they still believe Miss Malarkey lives at school. The book ends with the narrator discussing his future second grade teacher, Mrs. Boba, who the narrator is sure lives at school. This book is a great book for early grades because many students do believe that their teachers live in the school building and do not have other roles besides that of teacher. A book like this one, teaches students that teachers are real people just like anyone else and consequently can help students relate to their teacher better.

I dont think parents realize some of the conceptions children have about their teachers. This book just lets us realize one of them. It was well written.
