Overpriced but lots of good content,

This review is from: Missile Guidance and Control Systems (Paperback)
Similar to the 1 other review this book has a lot of good technical meat for a book on missile guidance and control (i.e., mechanics, dynamics, etc.). This book especially has a lot of material on inertial guidance. However, there is only the most basic coverage of interceptor missile challenges and issues (my biggest area of concern). My biggest grumble is that for the price ($300+) this book is a moderate disappointment. Most books comparable to this one are priced more reasonably in the $100 - $200 range. For several years this book has been 2x as pricey and not worth it, in my humble opinion (compared to some of the other very impressive texts available). I purchased this text since I'm a professional working in this field and collect all the resources on the street for reference (and knowledge). However, for the price, I was expecting a lot more than I found. In my business I rely more on the more affordable texts by Zarchan, Shneydor, Ben-Asher, and Garnell (out of print). I teach missile guidance for my corporation and I rely instead on the Zarchan and Shneydor texts since they are better organized for my teaching and much more affordable.

Excellent book in the field,

This review is from: Missile Guidance and Control Systems (Hardcover)
I received this book as a gift, and it totally changed my view of this field. This book provides details explantion of missile dynamics, guidance, and flight control theory and basic principles, in particular, because of author's real world experience, this book could give you a brief view of what happened in the missiel guidance society. It also contains some chapters never have been pulished before, such as delivery weapon system. I highly recommend this book to graduate or undergraduate students who working on the guidance and control or related areas, you will not regret your purchase.
