5.0 out of 5 stars Missing in Action II
First of all, the review by someone who cannot spell does not
do justice to this process. Chuck Norris movies are some of the best movies made. Clearly, he does a grand job of portraying the MIAs of Vietnam...reviewers with no background of Vietnam should not even try to write a review. I would definitely give this movie and his Delta Force a big thumbs up...

2.0 out of 5 stars So bad it's GOOD!
One of the worst action, war, and Kong fu films ever made, but with the best story line. This "prequel" was made before MISSING IN ACTION. This
film - so bad it's good - is from the same filmmakers who gave us other 'so bad it's good' films like OVER THE TOP and DELTA FORCE. MISSING
IN ACTION 3 is somewhat better, but it's nothing you haven't seen a 100 times...

5.0 out of 5 stars A great POW escape movie, April 11, 2000
This review is from: Missing in Action 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"Missing in Action 2: The Beginning" is the best part of the MIA trilogy which stars Chuck Norris as Col. Braddock. It is my favorite movie of all-time and I just can't help watching it once in a while to relive the action. This great prisoner-of-war (POW) escape movie combines action, drama, and a touch of morality into every scene and is not to be missed.

The plight of Col. Braddock and his friends against the dictatorial Col. Yen (played by Soon-Tek Oh) is full of interesting twists and turns that made it seem as if I was in the middle of the action. You could not help but cheer for Braddock each time he fouled up one of Yen's plans to torture the POWs in the camp. Braddock's various traps and tricks help him surive the brutality of slain friends and oppressive imprisonment. There is a little something for everyone here: martial arts action, prison-camp experience, and the drama of having to deal with it all. Throughout the whole movie I had the sense of the good rising up against the bad, and I was not disappointed.

The best part of the movie, without a doubt, is the final fight scene between Braddock and Yen. It is almost a moment of truth where good has the opportunity to triumph over evil. I encourage you to watch this movie to find out the outcome of the duel -- and if Braddock is able to escape with his life!

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must see.", August 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Missing in Action 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I watched this. I already knew the hero was going to survive, because I had seen the movie to which this one was the prequel. But it was exciting, all the same. I saw this as soon as it hit the theaters, because I had seen the first of the series and was really entertained.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Chuck Norris film ever., April 6, 1999

Col. Yen was awsome in his character rep-resentation. Franswa was also an interesting character but what is his problem with his helicopter?? I felt that Col. Yen should have been allwoed to use the helicopter to look for the American.

5.0 out of 5 stars Missing In Action The Beginning., February 11, 2002
This review is from: Missing in Action 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I just recently viewed this movie again. I enjoy it more each time. I like action movies and expect to be entertained. The action of this movie and the theme of good over evil adds to the enjoyment of this movie. Some people are not only offended by the portrayal of how the Viet Cong treated our soldiers, but refuse to believe such war attrocities occurred.. Some pretty awful tortures were performed in this movie involving fire, rats and even Viet Cong whores being used to torture and humiliate the POWs. This is not for the squeamish who know nothing about war. But if you like action movies, this one is great.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Beginning is all Comic Book Fantasy., December 5, 2001

This review is from: Missing in Action 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Missing in Action 2: The Beginning tells the tale of how James Braddock and a select few were captured, then tortured, and finally escaped (...) Vietcong. It's 100% jingoistic revenge fantasy as Braddock eventually busts loose, then heads. Soon Tek Ho plays a villain so cartoonishly evil you wonder why the filmmakers did not give him an eyepatch, facial scar, and a handle bar moustache to twirl as he cackles with sadistic glee. Formula fun for Norris fans only.

I really hate Missing in action movies They are so stupit! I really hate this film its supposed to be the beginning of the time when Chuck was a P.O.W in Vietnam. The movie deserves 0 stars it is so boring and lame. I might add that there is nothing positive in it and its a dark depressing movie with stupit scripts, rediculous martial art moves. I also may add I hate movies about Martial arts they put me in such a bad mood. I remember seeing this movie and walking out and feeling dark and in some kind of mean mood. I also hate movies about vietnam they always seem to be dark cold movies.
