It was very educational and informative., August 5, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Missing Diagnosis (Paperback)
This book was referred to me by a nutritionist.ph.d because all the symptoms I had had were all understandable with the history I presented. I,ve experienced yeast after yeast infections and got so many opinions from doctors with even one telling me "it was all in my head." After reading the case histories for myself and discovering that I could actually feel for what they were saying. It's a debate on my side of town between doctors, health professionals, dieticians, etc. so I used a bit of conventional medicine combined with diet and natural medicines. The psychiatrist I eventually had to see for depression and emotional disturbances did not take candida at all into consideration, therefore while in the hospital, no diet was presented to me. This book should be read by many many more doctors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, health practioners of all kinds, teachers and parents. It is true how affected the body is to doses and dos! es of antibiotics, stress, a diet void of live foods for energy, hormones, birth controls and just about anything that is unnatural. I personally have been so affected by candida that today, I am disabled to work and socialize as much as I'd like too. Money is a factor for me which causes more stress and less opportunities for holistic treatment. Conventional medicines have not been able to help. They have only served to introduce toxins in my blood stream which create memory, concentration, vision problems, fatigue, and many other physical ailments. It was the best book I have ever read on candida and I wish, somehow I can contribute to its getting to reach more and more people who are in the helping profession at all levels.

Dr. Truss's "Missing Diagnosis", March 9, 2011
This review is from: The Missing Diagnosis (Paperback)
I teach Microbiology and first read an article by Dr.Truss in 1985, and learned of all the problems that the yeast Candida can cause. This book is the Bible of Candida in my opinion. It causes so many problems that the medical profession throws medication at, but only to treat the symptoms. He had problems getting AMAJournal to publish any of his articles. This book will allow the reader to solve MANY medical problems that go misdiagnosed or treated instead of being cured. If you have health problems that you think you have to live with or take medication to live with, you need to get this book.
