My friend's 9 yr. old rescue racing Greyhound started growing hair in bald patches that had been there since she got him at 2 yrs. old so I decided to try it on my mixed breed. She has been on steroids for skin problems for 5-6 years after around $2000.00 in trying to find the cause--which the "SPECIALISTS" never did. When I periodically stopped the Predisone she would break out into bloody oozing sores on her face within 2-3 days. Within 7 days of starting the Missing Link and stopping the steroids she was fine. I held my breath and now it is a month later and she still has no sores or beginning sores. I can't say enough about it. It's worth every penny.

This product is simple to use and my Cocker Spaniel does not object at all to consuming Missing Link. The best part, though, is that it stopped his incessant itching almost immediately.

SUMMARY: Works as claimed, very palatable, no residual odor common to other omega-3 additives, will buy again; rather long, complicated ingredients list including many unusual items, but can't dispute observable health results

EXPERIENCE: Our chocolate lab pup has struggled with touchy skin for his entire 2.5 years. We've treated him for what MAY be intermittent yeast infections and for recurring ear infections with just brief success. Judging our guy has allergies, our vet steered us to adding omegas to his diet, but my wife and I can't tolerate the fish oil that seeps through his skin--what a stench.

I found Missing Link when looking for a non-fishy replacement for the omega nutriceutical. The manufacturer's claims are correct. His coat definitely improved, and our vet was right too, as he's far less disturbed scratching. His hair is returning, though it's still a fight for him (right now the trees are pollinating, and he definitely reacts to tree pollen).

There's also no breath or skin odor from the product. We've given it to both our labs (gotta be fair), and their coats have definitely improved.

It's important to follow the manufacturer's instruction about phasing in the product over 1-2 weeks. Labs have touchy guts, and even on a consistent diet, they can empty a house with just a single, innocent fart. Like us, labs benefit from some fiber, too, but like us, too much change too fast is disruptive and eruptive. So, follow the instructions!

It would be nice if the manufacturer included a long-handled, 1-tsp scoop (or, in our labs' case, a 1-tbs scoop). We keep a 1-tbs measure in the bag, but when you get near the bottom, you have to reach in. However, the product, a powder, is not sticky-greasy, so you don't bring it out on your hand.

My dog was shedding so badly and I was tired of paying so much money for a "shed control" product from the vet. Someone recommended this product while reviewing another product so I thought I'd try it. It just works wonders and it lasts forever!! Great value also.

I have been a German Shepherd owner and avid dog lover and trainer for over 30 years. I bought my first dog right out of high school. It wasn't until recently that I learned that hip displasia was NOT the only debilitating condition that plaques particularly German Shepherds (and many other breeds as well, particularly large breeds). It dawned on me as I began seeing the dreaded signs of difficulty standing, rear feet dragging (knuckling) a bit here and there on a German Shepherd of mine that I know for a fact has perfect hips, no hip displasia whatsoever. I have her x-rays on hand to prove it. That's when I found out about Degenerative Myolopathy (DM). To date, there is no cure. Vets are brainstorming on this one and networking their findings and research to try to develop a cure. In the meantime, they are finding that certain vitamin supplements seems to slow it down. Reading their findings, I searched for a supplement that might have all of the supplements they mentioned. All were included in this Missing Link powder supplement and so, I gave it a shot, not really expecting anything but at least I tried. I was dumbfounded and filled with joy at the results. My LiLi (the German Shepherd with the signs of DM) began showing a marked, dramatic improvement within one week. Within one month, it was as if she had backed up a few years. Did it cure her? No. Did it back the condition off and help her regain her strength and resiliance? YES, YES, YES!!!! She even chases and plays with my 3-Year Old German Shepherd again. I cannot say enough about the profound effect Missing Link powder has had on my dog. I have, to date, recommended it to 5 others with older dogs showing the same hip weakening conditions and ALL FIVE reported the same astonishing results.Read more ›

I have used this product for years. The results are always the same. Nice shiny coats and no itchy skin. I recommended it to a friend to try on her dog. He literally had lost most of his hair due to an allergy. Then she moved. I didn't see her for three months. What a difference! The dog had a full coat.

After 3 year of being told my dog had allergies, special food, daily bennadryl, Rx shampoo, grain free food of various protein sources and constant antibiotics etc. I took my dog to a new vet that diagnosed a nutritional deficiency (that was making her skin prone to bacterial infections) and suggested a very expensive prescription food. I asked around and was told from friends to look at a multivitamin. Missing Link was a good deal on Amazon. I started giving this to my dog 1 month ago. The dog was finishing a Rx of antibiotics so she got the vitamins and antibiotics for 2 days together, then just the vitamin now for over a month. Usually after the antibiotics are done the dog's skin condition comes back within a few weeks, red, scaly, bald patches with no itch. So far so good! she looks great. Still giving a grain free food, but adding 2tsp a day of this vitamin mix. So much cheaper then the Rx food but works great. Bulldogs are notorious for skin issues and if Missing link solves the issue long term I will be so happy, 3 years of "treatment" and nothing worked, 1 month of vitamins and still a perfect looking dog!

A few months ago I bought a different brand of dog vitamines, Nupro brand and they did not work for my dog. Her hair fell out (the dose of the Nupro brand was 2 big scoops a day, a 5lb bag lasted 1 month.
So I bought the 5lb bag of this stuff and we are all happy again (after 8 weeks of antibiotics) I think I will keep buying this brand. Bulldogs can be sensitive and have skin problems it seems like as long as we keep giving her the missing link we might have a fighting chance!
