About the Author

The late Walter Hesse began his adult life as an officer in the Merchant Marines and ran the WWII gauntlet from New York to Murmansk. He later served as a US Naval Officer in the Southwest Pacific. A professor at California Polytechnic State University, Pamona, there are numerous science textbooks to his credit in the fields of Geology, Astronomy and Space Science. D. M. Ulmer is a 1954 graduate of the US Naval Academy, retired in the grade of Captain. He's a licensed aircraft pilot, a history buff and writes for a variety of periodicals. He lives with his wife Carol on Lake Sammamish at Redmond, WA where he indulges his passion for sailing.

More About the Author

Author D. M. Ulmer enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1947. In two-years, he was promoted to third class electronic technician onboard the submarine USS CLAMAGORE. Six months later, he was advised he'd be transferred to the Naval Academy Prep School. When Ulmer asked his captain "why me?" the skipper replied facetiously, "I don't think you're smart enough to make second class and I need the bunk space!"

Ulmer returned to CLAMAGORE in 1967 as Commanding Officer. He then became one of the few, if not only, to have served in an enlisted status and as commanding officer in the same warship.

Format: Paperback
Only an extraordinary writers is capable to take over
for Mr. Hesse, who tragically passed away before his
mystery completion. Don Ulmer has the unique talent to
captures the spirit of the characters and bring this mystery
to a surprise ending as could only have happened. An
excellent story. I was unable to put the book down from page one.
a superior page turner mystery.
