This book found me as I was browsing in a local bookstore!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Missing Piece (Paperback)
The Ontario Adoption Registry had just notified me that one
my daughters wanted to meet me. You see, I had given
up two children for adoption in Toronto, Ontario in May, 1965.
Then, twenty-three later the registered letter came in the
mail that one of my daughters wanted a reunion. I then
went to a local Christian bookstore to see if I could find
something in the way of support. Lee's book 'The Missing
Piece' just popped out at me...her story and mine are so
miraculously similar...I just know that it was God's intention
that I meet her within the covers of this heartwarming
autobiography.
I sincerely want to thank Lee Ezell for her courageous account
and all the feelings and emotions that a young woman goes
through under such tragic circumstances. Lee's faith in God
proved to me that God is also working in my life.
I now realize that my decision to relenquish my daughters
was made out of love and concern for their futures...
PS I have been reunited with both daughters and have an
almost two year old grandson.
Warmest Regards, Heather Hopkins

A birthmother's point of view,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Missing Piece (Paperback)
I received this book as a gift from my aunt. I thought my family had resolved to forget that my rape and subsequent pregnancy and adoption of my daughter had ever happened. This book allowed me to realize that they had not forgotten. It allowed me to get inside of the mind of someone else who had been through the same thing I had gone through. It allowed me to realize I was not alone.I have gone through a lot of healing since my rape, but this was the first time I could actually point to someone else and say "See? She's just like me, and she's not a bad person either." It also helped me to realize a lot of my feelings towards God and resolve some of them. Thank you Lee for writing this book. God bless you and your families. May I someday have as joyous a reunion as you had with Julie.

The Missing Piece,

This book is certainly one that would be lauded by the pro-life and pro-adoption community. However, after carefully reading the book, I believe that many (if not most) rape victims suffering the consequences of rape-induced pregnancy, would not be able to identify with the reactions and philosophy that Ezell writes about.
