Book Description

April 25, 2005 8 and up3 and up
Watch out! The Timberline twins are on the loose. Bryce and Ashley are ATV-riding tweens from Colorado who unearth action-packed mystery and adventure wherever they go. From clearing the name of a local miscreant to thwarting a gold-stealing heist, the twins' growing faith and the strong example of their parents guide them through even the most life-threatening situations. With the trademark page-turner style used by Jerry Jenkins and Chris Fabry in the Left Behind: The Kids series, these fast-paced books will keep even reluctant readers on the edge of their seats. Readers will definitely get hooked by the unbelievable cliff-hanger at the end of book one, Haunted Waters. Perfect for ages 8-12.

5.0 out of 5 stars Non-stop reading fun!, June 23, 2005
This review is from: Missing Pieces (Red Rock Mysteries, Book 3) (Paperback)
My 11 year-old daughter recently acquired the first four installments of this new series. She picked one up on a recent morning, and by the time I returned home for dinner she had finished reading all four books! She wondered if we could get more!

These books are well written, engaging, and reflect values every parent will appreciate. I can trust these authors to deliver good story lines and believable characters - they have done so in the past, and have done it again with this series.

Reminds me of my childhood summer days, engrossed in a good book. Thanks, guys!

4.0 out of 5 stars Crime Solvers, July 11, 2011

This review is from: Missing Pieces (Red Rock Mysteries, Book 3) (Paperback)
"Missing Pieces" by Jerry B. Jenkins & Chris Fabry is the first book I've read from their young readers collection. It was a very quick read. Twins (brother & sister) have a detective bone in their body and love to solve mysteries. This particular story had 2 mysteries going on. Bryce had one to solve and Ashley was working on one. Bryce is working on figuring out who's been smashing mailboxes. He thinks he has it all figured out until he finds other evidence. Ashley, in the meantime, is trying to help the lunch lady find her missing daughter who was supposedly killed in an apartment fire. Mrs. Garcia never believed her baby was killed because there was never any evidence of a body found. It was interesting and perfect for any reader who is in to reading larger chapter books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable kids book, June 7, 2011
This review is from: Missing Pieces (Red Rock Mysteries, Book 3) (Paperback)
Bryce and Ashley each focus on a different mystery within their everyday lives; Bryce wants to figure out who is smashing mailboxes, while Ashley wants to help the notoriously mean lunch lady, who seems extra sad.

While a bit of Ashley's mystery is rather unbelieveable (certain aspects of an account of a fire don't seem accurate), the story in general was well-written and would be of great interest to mid to upper elementary.
