Editorial Reviews

How far would you go to save the person you love most in the world? Emmy Award nominee* Ashley Judd stars in Missing, ABC's riveting new series, bursting with international intrigue and thrilling twists and turns. Becca Winstone (Ashley Judd) learns that her son, Michael, has disappeared while studying abroad, and it's a race against time when she travels to Europe to track him down. It soon becomes clear that Becca is no ordinary woman, but a former CIA agent deactivated after the devastating death of her husband, Paul Winstone (Sean Bean). If she wants to find her son alive, Becca will have to rely on old friends, as well as old enemies, ex-lovers, and spies, and will be forced to reopen old wounds. Her resourcefulness, skill, and determination will be put to the test - but a mother's love knows no limits. ABC's action-packed drama grabs you from the very first minute and never lets go. Relive Becca's search through the streets of Europe, complete with exclusive bonus features that take you even deeper into her journey.

I came across this show on ABC, at the very beginning of it's 1st episode. It sucked me in, and became a "must watch" show for my wife and I. Excellently written, and keeps you thinking and guessing "What's going to happen next?" Good acting, good storyline, and filmed in some cool locations. After tomorrow's final episode of Season 1, it looks like there will NOT be a Season 2 (so that I've read). It's too bad, and considering some of the shows that have been renewed, ABC should be ashamed of themselves for not renewing Missing! I give ABC, ZERO STARS for not renewing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ashley Judd strikes again April 24, 2012
Format:DVD
Remember the good ole days, sitting on the couch watching "Double Jeopardy", "Kiss the Girls" and even "High Crimes" only to wonder several years later, "Where has Ashley gone?" After her so-called "retirement" from making movies (I put it in quotes because that's what she calls it), a humanitarian mission that leads her to 13 countries, and a book that tells us all what she's been up to out of the spotlight, Ashley Judd comes back with a bang in ABC's "Missing". While we're not used to seeing her on the smaller screen, I love the fact that we get a new episode each and every week that features my favorite actress. Each episode shocks me and inspires me. Everytime the show ends, I have an outburst of "WHAT?! What happens next?!?!" The show is thrilling, fast-paced, and always leaves me wanting more. The cast has been superb and while Judd is the biggest name in the credits, don't think you won't be pulled in by the other characters as well. Adriano Giannini is excellent as Giancarlo and plays well opposite of Judd's character Becca. Nick Eversman (Michael Winstone) makes you feel his fight to survive and his will to find his way out and back to his family in every performance that he gives. Speaking of the character, Michael, how could I not mention Oksana played by Tereza Voriskova? The two together will tug at your heart strings as you watch their stories unfold and you find them becoming a team to help each other out of the hell they've been placed in. The show is filled with action, suspense, betrayal, and- most of all- the love a mother has for her son and her willingness to put herself in a crossfire to get him back.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and fast paced May 12, 2012

Format:DVD
Though I only started watching this show because I was missing Sean Bean on Game of Thrones, I got rather sucked in! The filming locations all over Europe add a definite something special, and the pace is very quick which makes it somehow more involving. I like the actors, though I find Ashley Judd to be a bit stiff. I just read that the series was cancelled, which is disappointing, but it was still a fun ride worth watching if you like suspense series.

WHY?!!!
Because it wasn't popular in the 19600 Nielsen households that make up Americas ratings system.

Basically 1 Nielsen box = a ton of viewers.
