Book Description

Fifteen years ago, a boy was abducted when he was two and despite searching by authorities he was never found. Now, years later, a mother receives a phone call asking her if she would be willing to take custody of her missing son who is 17. He is in juvenile detention and about to be paroled but only if she is willing to take custody. Lana has remarried and has two stepdaughters. Despite many mixed emotions she brings her son home.
Troubles start when a step-daughter finds a scrap of paper with the phone number of her new brother’s father, the so-called abductor. Her life is further complicated when Lana learns that her manic father had set up a series of events that caused the grounds for her divorce and the loss of her son.
A liaison between Lana and her son’s father effects feelings of guilt and confusion. Should she follow her heart or stay with her current husband and honor her responsibility to the girls she’s mothered since their infancy?

Editorial Reviews

Review

Lana's boy Eddie has been missing for sixteen years, and now he's found. No longer a sweet two-year-old toddler, he's eighteen and has had some unusual life experiences. But he needs her, and even though she has a new husband and two step-daughters, she desperately wants him. But how will this strange young man fit into her life and family?
Strong characters, good writing, a complex plot. The characters evolve, their relationships become more complicated. As in all good stories, the best characters have flaws, the worst have some (slightly) redeeming qualities. This novel is a page-turner with an ending that took me by surprise. It's a good read.

I downloaded it yesterday and decided to read it last night. Let's just say I did not get much sleep! I was only planning to read a little and ended up reading the whole thing in four hours! A good story that keeps your attention and you don't want to put it down because you really want to know what happens next. Loved it and can't wait to read more by this author!
