Years ago before we became missionaries we used this book as the ultimate guide for mission agencies. This book helps you work through the maze of non-profit religious mission agencies. It gives you details condensed and organized in a way that educates the lay person about the "missionary culture."

It is a must if you are considering being a missionary as you can see which agency matches your gifts, your abilities and where you may want to serve best.

It is written in a simple way that helps you understand about these agencies.

It shows information about denominational missions, faith missions and other aspects of missions that you may not think about unless you are highly familiar with missions.

The specific details in the Handbook will not be on the mission website, therefore, it is a great tool. For example, the size of the mission agency is important, before you inquire you may want to know if it is a "family operation" or a diverse community of like minded people.

Mission organizations have their strengths and weaknesses, certainly a person should carefully examine many missions before deciding to make a life altering decision that could prove to be dangerous and sacrifical.

I wish more Missions Directors were aware of this book. Usually it can be found in large churches on a dusty shelf, when it should be used regularly as a reference in Missions Activities.
