4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth and a Great Value
I purchased the m35i pair alongwith the matching center speaker m3c2i. The m35i pair are heavy, shipping weight of 130 lbs which really reduced cabinet resonance. The main speakers were ground delivered by UPS, but not double boxed. Fortunately the only issue was one of the tabs on the removable grille was broken. The center shipped double boxed.

I tested the main speakers first with two-channel music. The sound was smooth and detailed. I used Donald Fagen - Nightfly, Sade and Pink Floyd for openers. The word was smooth, no listener fatigue even at high volumes; I could listen to this pair for hours. Sade's voice, in particular, was close to being as detailed as I have hears thru my Senn 580 with a headphone preamp. Then I put on Erykah Badu to test the lower notes. Notes below 40hz were sent to the Sub. The two 6 1/4 woofers in the LF unit performed beyond my expectations. I had placed the L/R about 1 ft from the rear wall and 10 ft apart. No boominess and the bass was about as tight from an older acoustic suspension pair. This is the only place where I took off one-half star. I would have liked a bigger bass to avoid using the sub at all for music tracks.

I put on a couple of Dolby D encoded movie tracks. I could not mount the center directly in the wall as there are two rear ports, so I placed the center on a small stool below my screen. After the appropriate adjustments for the crossover of the center, I tried the movies and also 2-channel music converted to 5-channel stereo. I was impressed with the seamless nature of the soundstage from the main pair and the center. Definite thumbs up for home theater use.

I also found that if the music is not well-recorded, the main pair are not very forgiving. But for well-executed music, the m35i's are a great fit and a bargain.

My room dimensions are 15x20 and these speakers are just right to fill that dimension with good quality sound. I was worried that the main pair may be too large for that size room, but it worked out fine - the m34's would have been too small for my location.

Finally, I was comparing these speakers to a JBL Jubal pair, Infinity RS5000 and JBL L165 pair. At the offered 50% discount these speakers are a bargain.

I purchased these speakers to replace my older SONY floor standing-speakers - they look and sound fantastic. I turned up the volume on my receiver to 5 (the SONYs started to break up), but these speakers handled the volume SMOOTHLY... Also, I shopped around before I purchased these & for the money, they were a excellent bargain. The only complaint I have is that they placed the M35I sticker on the grill!!! Lucklily my wife had something to remove the glue.
