This review is from: Mission Possible, Special 10th Edition (Paperback)
MISSION POSSIBLE! is a wonderful read with a wealth of information. The book features interviews of fifteen high caliber dynamic business and motivational leaders. As expected, all of the interviews are interesting and insightful. Some moreso than others. As shown on the cover, included are interviews of Stephen Covey and Brian Tracy, but I found most interesting and enlightening Richard Tyler, Rick Houcek and Bob Furniss.
The topics cover a lot of ground as well. This is not just about self-improvement and success, but also delves into things such as building customer loyalty and being a better boss or employee. Of course there is also a strong emphasis on sales. I found really two downsides to this book. One, the interviews were very short. Most consisted of about ten pages and don't really get deep enough into the minds and messages of these "possibility thinkers". Two, and most frustrating, at least to me, is that the book is transcripted directly from interviews and there is a total lack of editing. Some of it is just plain aggrevating. For instance, we are instructed "Cease the day" instead of seizing it. Maybe I'm just nit-picky, but if I'm going to spend money on what is to be professional advice on what amounts to leading a high quality and successful life or business, I expect a high quality product. In this area, the book falls short. If you can overlook that, there are pearls here. |
