Your mission - if you choose to accept it...is an important one!,
This review is from: Mission Possible Spiritual Covering (Paperback)
Christian women have the remarkable opportunity to show their husbands the true meaning of living a life for Christ. Through this example and strength of faith a change can and will take place in your husband's life forever. This point is supported and illustrated in "Mission Possible - Spiritual Covering."
If you are a Christian woman striving to introduce your husband to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior, you will truly love and embrace the inspiration and hope found in this book. Unlike other books with religious themes, "Mission Possible" is a clear road map leading to an everlasting peace within your home. Reading "Mission Possible - Spiritual Covering," will encourage and fortify you as you journey with your husband on the road to salvation. By the end, you will be prepared to show and demonstrate to your husband a crystal clear understanding of God's mercy, love, and desire. The `seek and find' sections in "Mission Possible - Spiritual Covering" provide a refreshing twist to normal how-to books. Each section presents questions regarding relevant Scriptures for the reader to answer. By answering these questions in conjunction with the book the reader will be better prepared and reassured in her effort to help her husband. Finally the reader will feel inspired--containing wisdom and then applying the practical advice given as reference from "Mission Possible." Right from the first paragraph, Deborah's experience and passion will capture your undivided attention. Again and again, she presents her faith and conviction in the Scriptures with a pace that's quick and always fresh. The heart filled passion and desire for her husband to find and establish a relationship with our Lord and Savior is virtually on every page. Need confidence, support, and hope for your husband's relationship with God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? I recommend reading "Mission Possible - Spiritual Covering"...an excellent resource book that will change the life of both you and your husband forever. Now you can feel assured knowing that you and your husband will walk hand in hand basking in the Lord's everlasting grace, mercy and love. This is a Premium Promotional Service book review.

For Women with Unbelieving Husbands,
By Pat W. Kirk "ebooklet Solitary and Cadillac C... (Kansas, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mission Possible Spiritual Covering (Paperback)
More than a book, Mission Possible is a Bible study and prayer guide. It tells of one woman's struggle on her knees and what she learned as she waited for her husband to follow her in faith. Each chapter ends with questions for the reader to answer. The reader will find much here to help anyone waiting for a husband or a family member to come to the Lord. She quoted passages that will help me in my prayer life for any family member or friend.
However, in a book, I would have liked to see more personality. She never mentioned her husband's name. I want her to tell me a story of his ethical behavior--she describes him as a "good moral" man--times when she felt pride in him, and times of insensitivity on his part: describe conversations they had that may have discouraged her, and tell of the moments she saw him moving toward the Lord so I can rejoice with her. I want to know about his conversion experience. How did his conversion change the practical things in her life? What were the conversations when supposed friends told her to leave him? Did those conversations confuse her to the point that she thought about a life without him? If she would share more of herself, I think she could have a best seller. Meanwhile, I can see this book as the basis of Sunday school classes for women in her situation, and if you want to start a class like this in your church, this is a valuable jumping-off place for a discussion group.

For a modern Christian wife, hoping and waiting for your husband to embrace Jesus as his savior is not enough. With Mission Possible, Deborah McCarragher hopes to offer a guide to show your man the path to finding and creating a relationship with our Lord.
Like many North Americans, author Deborah McCarragher made many excuses for not going to church. Finally, in the spring of 1989 she attended with a neighbor. As she describes it, Deborah was "radically saved" that first Sunday. She took her two-year-old son and each week she became closer and closer to God. Her husband approved, but would not attend church. During this time Deborah decided that her husband was "on lease" to Satan. A "spiritual skirmish" was taking place--God's desire to see a couple united together as one versus Satan's opposition to Holy Union. At this time many women may give up the battle for their husband's soul, seek a divorce and a new man who is a believer. With Mission Possible: Spiritual Covering the author encourages women to stay the course as even good, moral men devoted to the marriage and family need help to find salvation. The book offers a step-by-step "How to" guide to showing your husband God's mercy, love, and desire. Each chapter concludes with a "Seek and Find" section that presents questions concerning applicable scriptures. These questions help the reader fully understand and utilize the information previously covered. Modern families are bombarded with temptations and numerous issues from financial concerns to troubles at schools and in communities. A couple with a shared spiritual foundation is better equipped to stand against these challenges. The struggle to help your husband develop a personal relationship with God is no easy task. With trust in your faith and the spiritual tools found in this book, this religious obstacle can be become Mission Possible! The book was written for women, however I believe it would just as helpful to men hoping to show their wives the path to God. Religious differences continue to be a leading cause of marital break up. Mission Possible could save your mate and your marriage. Highly Recommended by Reader's Choice Book Reviews.

The Value of the Praying Wife for the Unsaved Husband,
By
This review is from: Mission Possible Spiritual Covering (Paperback)
Mission Possible is a well-written book that should encourage and instruct any wife who yearns for a Godly husband--who loves him enough to pray for his eternal salvation even when she doesn't see any fruit in the present. Ms. McCarragher's insights into how to be a Godly wife and "helpmeet" are supported with Scriptural references that give profound wisdom to help anyone struggling in this area. Even though I am not married, I found much Godly wisdom as a single woman to apply in my walk with God, knowing these kernels of truth have application not just in marriage but in all relationships--including children and friends. We never know how God is working to bring about a miracle in all the lives we touch. This book is a must-read for anyone who is committed to prayer, steadfastness, and faith for a Godly marriage and home.

Every church should start a Bible study with this book!,

What does a Christian woman do when she finds herself married to an unbeliever?
D.L. McCarragher's book "Mission Possible" addresses this situation. "Mission Impossible" is a short book, only about eighty pages long but it's a book that packs a powerful punch. Divided into seven chapters and an epilogue, McCarragher breaks down for the Christian woman what model she should base her prospective husband (Jesus) on and what to do when when her spouse does not conform to that model. McCarragher shares her own personal journey with her unbelieving husband and gives much insight into the road mines (the Abigail Syndrome) and barriers that can discourage a woman who has prayed and begged God for years to change her husband into a man of God. She gives a new and thoughtful approach to using scripture as the powerful weapon it is meant to be. In Chapter 3 "Faith as a Mustard Seed" on pg. 30 she states: "I recommend speaking varied scriptures for salvation over your husband daily. One of my favorite scriptures is Romans 10:20, where Paul quotes a passage from Isaiah 65:1, "I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest by those who did not ask for Me." Whoa! Praying over your husband is an aggressive act and an optimistic one at that. How many of us have considered doing that? How many of us want to instead enjoy Abigail's fate and prayed for God to get rid of our husband so we can have our "David"? (Come on, be honest.) In Chapter 4, "Painful Reality" she admonishes wives not to be a Jonah and run away but to be sincerely devoted to the salvation of their husband's soul. She gives an example of her own prayer, a prayer that visualizes the sort of Godly man her husband is intended to be. "I thank you, Lord, that my husband will be a mighty man of God; a man so in love with you that he will not be able to satisfy the hunger he has for you... he will reach for his Bible instead of the TV remote, he will desire to be with your people and enjoy their fellowship. He will be the priest of his home and take on his priestly duties with godly reverence. He will pray with his family and long to serve you...(pg. 42) Chapter 5, "Timing is Everything" discusses God's perfect timing using the book of Esther (for such a time as this). She reminds the reader that even though things seem to be going bad that God is indeed working "..behind the scenes with your husband. The time spent waiting is both for his benefit and for yours. Just as Esther spent much time in preparation for an audience with the King, so too are you being readied." (pg. 51) Chapter 6 admonishes Christian women in this same situation to form prayer groups and pray for the salvation of each other's husbands and Chapter 7 is a brief discourse on Victory which she freely admits has not happened with her own husband. Nevertheless she has seen many miraculous transformations in him. The thing I appreciate the most about McCarragher's book is how she backs everything she asserts with scripture. In fact each chapter is followed by a question and answer section which makes Mission Possible not only an invaluable read but a great Bible study. To conclude, "Mission Possible" would make a wonderful Bible study for an individual but it would be especially effective for group study. I recommend this book to church groups that have members married to unbelievers. (In other words, every church should get this book!) It would be a great way to serve an, unfortunately, large people group that have to come to church to worship and serve God without their helpmates. Thanks to the author for providing me with a complimentary copy. The review is my honest appraisel.

Mission Possible,
This review is from: Mission Possible: Spiritual Covering (Kindle Edition)
A brief outline of this book is best described by the author:
"This book will serve to encourage your heart, strengthen your soul, and stretch your faith." Mission Possible begins by describing the priestly role model that Jesus portrays for the husband in the household. Unfortunately, he will not follow this role if your spouse is not a believer. Becoming a believer while your spouse is not can cause stress, heartache, and discouragement. Mission Possible is a detailed, scripturally based boot-camp for the believing spouse on a new Godly mission - to be a testimony and a representative of Jesus to your husband. D. L.McCarragher's experience and energy presents the Word of God to edify and instruct on prayer, pitfalls and priorities. The book is set up to use as a devotional or Bible study. It has a "Seek and Find" section with questions, discussion and addition Bible verses after each chapter. There are also short clever remarks inserted into the chapters that can only be described as Pure Encouragement! I especially enjoyed "In the Meantime- Serve". In this chapter she talks about serving the Lord, but doing so with respect to the husband and the problems that may arise. She explains how to make good decisions that will maintain love and peace in the home. I highly recommend this book for individual or women's group Bible studies. For those using an e-book, Mission Possible is very well formatted for the e-book format with easy chapter navigation.

Words of Encouragement,
By
This review is from: Mission Possible: Spiritual Covering (Kindle Edition)
I like how the author titles her work: Mission Possible, because as we know, with God all things are possible even those human decisions that seem to be outside God's direct control.
This book encourages the Christian spouse whose partner does not share the same passionate relationship with God. A marriage with these circumstances is often difficult because of the opposite directions that each spouse chooses to follow. Mission Possible, however, encourages the Christian spouse to not give up. Through scriptural study along with the author's own personal story weaved throughout the book, the Christian spouse comes to understand better God's will for these type of relationships. Even though this book was written from a woman's point of view, I think it is encouraging for any spouse who may be in this situation. I also know there are a lot of couples out there in this situation who could benefit from the wisdom imparted in this book. I highly recommend it.

Must Have!,
This review is from: Mission Possible: Spiritual Covering (Kindle Edition)
This is a must have, not only if your spouse isn't saved, but also if they are saved and don't have the same desire to serve Christ as you do. Nothing is impossible with God. That includes changing your spouse's heart. Deborah does an excellent job sharing Biblical Truths on how to take on that possible mission of leading your spouse to Christ. My favorite quote in her book was: We are to "love the sinner, but hate the sin." There were times I had to pray, "Lord, give me a desire for my husband... help me to love him with Your love, because I don't like him very much right now."
