5.0 out of 5 stars THE NITTY GRITTY OF THE MISSION FIELD, November 3, 2000

This review is from: Mission Possible: The Wonderful Story of God and a Wyclife Translator in the Jungles of Papua New Guinea (Paperback)
This was a life changing book for me. I have been a Christian for a long time but only recently became interested in missionaries. This book describes so beautifully what happens when an ordinary person is called by God to take the gospel to people who have never heard it. This school teacher from Indiana answered the call to go to New Guinea (350 miles from the nearest radio contact) and learn a new language, then translate the entire New Testament into that language. It is a very personal account of her relationships, her struggles and the miracles that occurred while she was there. I will never again be able to put missionaries on the back burner after getting to know this woman. I'm giving this book to all my close friends at Christmas, I can't think of anyone who would not be fascinated by this journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marilyn's book is exciting, adventurous, and encouraging!, July 9, 1999
This review is from: Mission Possible: The Wonderful Story of God and a Wyclife Translator in the Jungles of Papua New Guinea (Paperback)
Marilyn's courage and determination is inspiring. This is the most exciting "Missionary" book I have ever read. This is a "can't put it down" book. Her devotion to Christ and the Sepik tribes is so encouraging. Her story is adventurous, scary, loving, and intellectual all rolled into one. God bless you, Marilyn!

The book Mission Possible by Marilyn Laszlo was magnificent, I couldn't put it down. She is an incredible person, and very brave. I had the opportunity to see her speak at a missions trip I went on, and she tells some awesome stories. I recommend this book to all people.

What happens when men won't take up the cross and go to the most remote areas of the world to share the gospel? Single women such as Marilyn Laszlo take up the burden. Marilyn has a wonderful way of telling stories that bring her readers right there with her. You understand exactly what she was going through, and are inspired to sacrifice and go yourself--as I was, also in Papua New Guinea.

I first bought this book after hearing Marilyn speak. It is almost as good as hearing her in person although nothing can match her dynamic personality. Hers is a story of incredible faith and a lifetime of service. Find out how God used a young single women to transform an entire jungle community. I have loaned this book out multiple times both at home and overseas. It has inspired many missionaries of today. For anyone seeking to follow God's will for their life, this will be an encouragement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Story, December 2, 2004

Several years ago, I gave this book a bad review. However, I have changed my opinion of it. The story in and of itself is very good and inspiring. I can't say that I agree with everything done in it, but it is clear that the Lord truly did bless the efforts of Marilyn Laszlo and her fellow missionaries. Whether you agree totally with the mission strategy or not, I can say that you will thoroughly enjoy reading this book to see how God worked in the lives of the Sepik Iwam tribe

The book came very quickly and was in good shape. I have not had the time to read the book as yet, but have read another book by the author and that is why I ordered this book.
