Book Description

History and military buffs will delight in this moving book regarding World War II and the campaigns of both Operation Torch (North Africa) and Operation Husky (Italy).  If you are looking for the details of everyday life in the military during World War II, this is the book for you.

This is the story of Tech. Sgt. Edward Graham. Eddie signed up for the Army right after Pearl Harbor, or at least in an indulgence to his mother regarding the holidays, he waited until after Christmas. He enlisted on January 10th, 1942 in New York City at the age of 27. He had previously spent four years in the Navy before enlisting in the Army. He somehow managed to be transferred into the Air Corps. USAAF 12th Air Force (B17F Flying Fortress) of the 301st BG.

This book is a memoir but also includes a wide variety of 1940's history. Included is everything from a Dept. of Defense Report to a Donut Recipe from the Red Cross during World War II.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I hope you enjoy reading my book, Mission Reports, which was written to preserve the endearing memories of the life and World War II military service of my father-in-law, the late Edward Graham.

From the Back Cover

Tech. Sgt. Edward T. Graham (retired-deceased)

In this book, Tech. Sgt. Graham reports on the daily operations and missions during his military service in World War II.  Historical (and sometimes entertaining) information is included to verify and explain those reports.  I have included information from Dept. of Defense (DoD) Reports to a Donut Recipe by the Red Cross.

You will find this book gives and insightful view of World War II during the campaigns of:
  • North Africa - "Operation Torch"
  • Invasion of Italy - "Operation Husky

I give a special thank you to the heroic service in World War II by the 12th USAAF, of which Edward Graham served.

Thank you, as well, for the service of all men and women of the United States military.  Their dedication and sacrifice to this country should never be forgotten.

Excellent memoirs of an US Sgt's military experience during WWII. It is very interesting to read the firsthand accounts of the history of WWII and learn about what those who had enlisted endured for our country and our freedom...
