"INSPIRATION" FOR MORMON MISSIONARIES AND LATTER-DAY SAINTS IN GENERAL, April 6, 2011
(Note: Amazon has erroneously linked two different books---
The Missionary's Little Book of Teaching Tools and
The Missionary's Little Book of Inspirational Stories---to each other, so I'm including both reviews together.)
TEACHING TOOLS book:
The Foreword to this 2001 book says, "This book contains many great teaching aids, ideas, and object lessons that are passed down from missionary to missionary... This little book is a compilation of these creative ideas. In this book you will find object lessons for the principles in your discussions, ideas for teaching other gospel subjects, and large-group activities. This 'must for missionaries' book will give you added insights that will make your teaching clear and reinforce important principles."
The book is divided into the following sections: "The Plan of Our Heavenly Father"; "The Gospel of Jesus Christ"; "The Restoration"; and "Living a Christlike Life."
INSPIRATIONAL STORIES book:
This 2000 book (edited by R. Dale Jeffrey) is filled with stories and quotations, primarily intended for Mormon missionaries, but also of interest to other Latter-Day Saints, as well as other persons who like such "inspirational" material.
The book is divided into the following sections: "Attitude"; "Faith" "Goals and Habits"; "Hard Work"; "Leadership"; "Love and Service"; "Missionary Work"; "Obedience"; "Our Savior Jesus Christ"; "Overcoming Obstacles"; and "Prayer."
