Described by one critic as "Bessie Smith meets Diana Krall meets Janis Joplin," other reviewers have compared her to Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn and Norah Jones. Never mind the comparisons. Eden's fresh voice is one-of-a-kind, and her distinctive style, fusing elements of blues, jazz, soul, gospel and pop, is turning the heads of roots music lovers nationwide.

"Fried Chicken",

I met Eden Brent's muse "Boogaloo" Ames and loved his music over 20 years ago. But I did not know of Eden until I moved home to the Delta in 1993. She grew up 45 miles down the road and several decades after me. Now she
can be known and her music enjoyed by everyone! I bought "Mississippi Number One" today and took it back to work with me. I have listened to the whole thing over and over all day long and have shared it with my co- workers (some of whom already knew the fried chicken song)!Treat yourself to some "Fried Chicken" while you ride up Highway 1 with Eden Brent as your host! You need to buy this album!! Great job, Eden! When's your next one due out?!

classic jazz/blues,

Eden Brent's debut is a great addition if you're looking for classic boogie woogie piano. Eden can play a mean piano and knows how to belt out a tune. The songs are well written (many written by her and her mother).

What a refreshing addition to the Blues family!,

Welcome Eden! Every once in a while a fresh voice, musician, take on the genre, comes along. When I saw your award at the 2009 Blues Awards, I sat up, bought the CD, and took notice. If Norah Jones had become a blues singer, you'd be it. Wonderful, wonderful work. Please, take your time and give us a CD of this quality next time. Thank you,
Don O'Neill
