5.0 out of 5 stars "Fried Chicken", August 14, 2008

I met Eden Brent's muse "Boogaloo" Ames and loved his music over 20 years ago. But I did not know of Eden until I moved home to the Delta in 1993. She grew up 45 miles down the road and several decades after me. Now she
can be known and her music enjoyed by everyone! I bought "Mississippi
Number One" today and took it back to work with me. I have listened to
the whole thing over and over all day long and have shared it with my co-
workers (some of whom already knew the fried chicken song)!Treat yourself to some "Fried Chicken" while you ride up Highway 1 with Eden Brent as your host! You need to buy this album!! Great job, Eden! When's your next one due out?!

4.0 out of 5 stars classic jazz/blues, April 16, 2008

Eden Brent's debut is a great addition if you're looking for classic boogie woogie piano. Eden can play a mean piano and knows how to belt out a tune. The songs are well written (many written by her and her mother).

5.0 out of 5 stars What a refreshing addition to the Blues family!, May 10, 2009

Welcome Eden! Every once in a while a fresh voice, musician, take on the genre, comes along. When I saw your award at the 2009 Blues Awards, I sat up, bought the CD, and took notice. If Norah Jones had become a blues singer, you'd be it. Wonderful, wonderful work. Please, take your time and give us a CD of this quality next time. Thank you,
Don O'Neill

5.0 out of 5 stars Number One blues, June 25, 2009
This review is from: Mississippi Number One (Audio CD)
This CD is blues the way they're meant to be played. Eden is a knockout pianist, and her singing leaves no doubt - she inherited the tradition. She plays in the style you know and love, but all in her own way. You've never heard anyone quite like her. There are a few standards in here which have been done so often, but Eden pulls off an interpretation you haven't heard before and it makes you forget the ones you did hear. If you like blues, you need this CD. If you're not sure, this one will seal the deal. Get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars She has "IT"!, September 1, 2010

This CD is fabulous! Eden has it all; talent, sex appeal, and showmanship. The only thing better than listening to this
or any of Eden's cds is to see her perform live. She is a fire cracker of an entertainer and can play the piano like
nobody's business. She broke the race barrier before it was acceptable, especially for a young female in Mississippi. Boogaloo Ames is gone but his music lives-on and grows through this multi-talented singer.

From beginning to end this is an album of the blues. Every song is either good or great. Eden has a near perfect blues voice, a savvy delivery and great piano playing. If you like the blues you cannot help but like this album.

...talent. Style, ability and shear gift of this child is simply jaw dropping.
I LOVE her raw and open presentation, and it fits the genre with a profound elegance
that makes me smile widely. The only thing that does not fit is my incongruous penchant for sipping
single malt while listening to blues.
I have her CD's and will buy everyone she produces. If she goes on tour to my region, I WILL be in the front row.
