I like that Houston gets respect from the whole southern rap industry because, look how many albums "5000 Watts" has chopped. He's even doin all the mixtapes now for Luda & Jeezy.
This is a great cd that's slow yet crunk with heavy bass lines. Perfect to hit I-45 n head to the kappa listenin to. If you wanna show off your subs..get it

David Banner is great. I had heard the whole album. But when i saw this was 5 dollars less than the regular one. I bought it thinking it would be remixes of the songs. When I put it in my CD player,I got a suprise. It was slowed down making David Banner have a low voice, and certain parts would repeat thereselves.I like the regular album better. But this is OK and you get used to it after a while. But if you want the real david banner, get the regular Mississippi: the album.

As a new fan of the "screwed-up" style (my introduction was 8 Ball & MJG's "Space Age 4 Eva," also done by Michael Watts of Swisha House & also excellent), this album blew me away. Having heard the "regular" version, I found this version to be superior in almost every way. David Banner's an OK MC, but not amazing, and his production is the same -- but whoa, when you slow it down & chop it up, "Mississippi" becomes AMAZING. The screwed & chopped version of "Choose Me" is so good, it makes "Hey Ya" sound like MC Hammer scraping dog-doo off the sole of his Reebok. Definitely check this album out as a great introduction to the DJ Screw style (RIP) & as an example of how hip-hop's limitless creativity & inventive nature strike again.
