4.0 out of 5 stars Missouri trees
My sister is moving into the country this year and I thought this would be a great gift for her to identify tree's and wildflowers on their land. Although small it looks to have great information in it about some of our tree's and wildflowers in Missouri so they can identify more. Would love a big colorful book on this same sort of thing but for the time being it will...

3.0 out of 5 stars Expected a book, received a folded pamphlet
(Updated 12/17/2009) When I bought this in 2005, I expected a small "paper bound" booklet (not a detailed book) that contained illustrations and descriptions. The advertisement now includes a clear statement that this is a pamphlet, so my disappointment should not be encountered by others.

(Updated 12/17/2009) When I bought this in 2005, I expected a small "paper bound" booklet (not a detailed book) that contained illustrations and descriptions. The advertisement now includes a clear statement that this is a pamphlet, so my disappointment should not be encountered by others.
I received a 8.25 x 22.00 sheet that was folded multiple times to create a 4.00 x 8.25 pamphlet. The material is good quality and should stand up to some exposure to moisture since it has a plastic coating. The illustrations are color and fairly good for drawings, but they are small and require imagination to figure out the scale. Size of the plant is stated, but I didn't see any description of flower size. For me, the descriptions were somewhat inadequate. I don't believe this is going to be much help to me in identifying plants for the first time.

It shows approximately 40 trees and 93 plants if I counted correctly.
