More pragmatic than poetic,
By Shedder (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mist on the River: An Angler's Quest for Steelhead (Hardcover)
Despite the title, this book is more pragmatic than poetic. He goes on a road trip to the Skeena watershed to sample the steelhead fishing. Having spent only a short time there, his story is more reportage than retrospective.
I did learn some things new, however, and for anyone unfamiliar with the area or its history it is a good source. For something closer to the heart, Carey's North Bank, Haig-Brown, or McGuane might suit you better. |
