It's been a favorite for a long time,

This review is from: Mist & Stone (Audio CD)
I have had the cassette for years. I am now upgrading to a CD. The music is soothing, and helps me concentrate. I have used it for meditation, and it helps me to center. The instrumentation is beautiful. All of the tunes are melodius and traquil. If you need cassette or CD to help you relax and focus, I recommend this music!!!

Mysterious Mystical Celtic Music,
By
This review is from: Mist & Stone (Audio CD)
Maggie Sansone is to the hammered dulcimer as Yitzak Perlman is to the violin or Yo Yo Ma is to the cello ... she is *that* special! The music on this CD is timeless and enchanting. One can almost feel the cool mist rising on the Moors or taste the salty air as the waves splash onto the seashore. While the hammered dulcimer is the lead instrument, other traditional instruments add their magical touch to create charming melodies, airs, jigs and waltzes. The Celtic harp, pennywhistle, concertina, accordion, bodhran, occasionally the guitar, violin, mandolin, bass or synthesizer, plus the "viola da gamba" create a mesmerizing blend of beautiful music transporting the listener to Ireland, Scotland, the Isle of Man and Galicia. I find myself humming several of the melodies throughout the day, after listening to this CD. The pleasure of listening to this music lasts many hours. Most highly recommended. This is an all instrumental album of Celtic music from Ireland, Scotland, & other Cetlic lands. The arrangements are solidly traditional, yet have unique chording and instumentation that lift it from the mundane into a contemplative and memorable experience.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I currently own three of Maggie Sansone's CD's...I like them all...my favorite of the three is Celtic Meditations. I like this one a lot too, although "Meditations" has a lot more songs (24 tracks.) Bottom line, if you like dulcimer music and/or celtic music, this one is a winner!

Maggie Sansone is an incredible artist whose music stirs those with Celtic ancestry....and those without as well! This is one of her best and I have one for home and one for the road...she is SSSOOOOOOOO good....locals of Annapolis Md see her every year at the Renaissance Festival where she charms children, their parents, and grandparents....those lucky to study with her and those lucky to see her quick wit and musical talent in person are struck by her accessability and genuine involvement. Her cds are addictive, so be prepared to add to the first selection...Bonnie Rideout plays on several...gorgeous fiddle with the dulicimer...how can you resist????

Mist and Stone wills the air and washes over you allowing you to sense the emotion to your very core. The Dulcimer's notes working into your mind and you can feel you are part of something much greater than just music. You are part of an ancient place and an ancient culture
