5.0 out of 5 stars works best
We have very sensitive noses when it comes to cat urine and tried MANY other products that didn't remove all the smell. Anti Icky Poo did. It has a clean, shower-fresh scent, not a perfumey type one that tries to mask odors.

We had to call the product's customer support for extra assistance, because one spot was extra stubborn. They were *very* informative...

3.0 out of 5 stars Urine off a better product for cat urine.
Tried this for neutralizing cat urine stains and while it was fairly effective, I found "Urine Off" to be a more effective (though a bit more expensive) product.

We had to call the product's customer support for extra assistance, because one spot was extra stubborn. They were *very* informative and helpful. The advice they gave was to deep-treat it by first applying the solution as directed then putting a wet towel and a plastic bucket over the area to keep it working and not dry out for about a week. We did that and the smell was ABSOLUTELY gone after trying for six months previously. I am now a lifelong fan & if the problem ever occurs again, I now know exactly what to do.

I had a very naughty cat who out of the blue took to urinating on everything. At one point, she did it in a closet that was not floored; it soaked directly into the exposed chipboard subflooring, and no amount of scrubbing would get it out. Nor would other enzyme types of odor removers. But AIP did. It took quite a bit, because the smell had saturated the wood, and spread as a result of my attempts to scrub it out, but it did work. I can recommend this product without reservation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Magic!, October 24, 2008

Anti-Icky-Poo (AIP for those in the know) is nothing short of magic.

I had the privilege of speaking with "Mister Max", the inventor of AIP, back when he was still running the company himself out of his home. His enthusiasm and trust in this product was nothing short of inspiring. And he was absolutely correct in his enthusiasm!

I have several cats. One decided that the only room that has carpet is a nifty litter box (he has tactile issues). Another has fear issues of being attacked while in the box. Of course, cat lovers know that if you've only got one room with carpet, that's also where they all go to throw up.

I had tried other products unsuccessfully, but now I've been using AIP for years to clean up after them. I keep a spray bottle of AIP handy for the daily accidents - which aren't really accidents.

If more people would find out about this terrific product, I cannot imagine how many kitties' lives would be saved when they weren't dumped at a shelter for litter box problems. Belongings are replaceable, the critters aren't. But when using AIP, you don't have to worry about urine odor ruining your carpet or furniture, so it's not an issue.

I cannot recommend this product highly enough.

This stuff has a funny name, but it's serious stuff in tackling cat urine odors. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't apply itself. ;) Follow the directions and it'll go a LONG way to address any problem. I've used it on both carpets and subflooring, and it did a great job of eliminating or nearly eliminating odors. I've stocked up on it due to effectiveness of it, especially when used on fresh incidents. Doesn't leave a powerful perfume smell like others products I've tried. The smell is pleasant, but not overpowering. The smell is NOT part of the "trick" to this product - it doesn't just cover up the smell. It really does treat it bacterially.

I've got one crazy old cat that pees everywhere. Tried vinegar, baking soda, all the remedies that you see on the internet. None worked. Tried this and it immediately removed the odor, even on carpeted areas where she'd been sneaking off and peeing for months, and this was after the product was diluted, not full strength out of the bottle. Another cat decided she had to throw up on the mattress where she sleeps... twice in two days. Sprayed this on the vomit residue and the vomit didn't even leave a stain on the mattress, it ate up everything that was left. This stuff really is a must have for pet owners, I don't plan on being without it in the future.

EDIT Sept 2011--I've been using this stuff for about 2 years now, and it still works well. Its equal to natures miracle, but costs about 1/2 the price or less, depending on how you dilute it. One thing I've noticed though, you may want treat a heavily peed in area with diluted vinegar first (about 1/3 vinegar to water). I think that the urine ammonia that builds up renders the cleaners like this ineffective. Vinegar reacts to the ammonia and neutralizes it. If you see the area foam up when you spray on the vinegar thats whats happening. Cleaners like this afterward get rid of the rest of the odors. You want to saturate the area with vinegar and make sure it has evaporated before applying. Other than that it works well at getting rid of the residue of all the charming bodily functions your pet is so free with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worked for cat urine in couch AND cleared the washer mold., June 28, 2009
This review is from: MisterMaxAnti Icky Poo - 1 Gallon
I'd have given the product five stars if not for the repeated applications over several weeks that were necessary to clear the urine odor from my couch, but it did eventually work, thank goodness.

What I ended up doing was going to my vet's office and asking for a syringe/needle so I could inject the solution into the cushion. Then I covered the area with a trash bag, to keep it from drying (the longer it stays wet, the longer it can keep working on the urine). There is just the slightest hint of urine odor remaining, only noticeable if I put my nose a couple inches from the cushion. The smell was so bad in the beginning, if I'd not been able to eliminate it, I would have had to dispose of the couch.

I also discovered this product works quite well at eliminating the moldy smell problem from my front-load washer. I just put Anti Icky Poo in the liquid compartment and ran the empty washer set on 'whites' with the temp of 'sanitize.' Gotta love it when one product can serve two or more purposes!

Really removed the smell! Like the injector syringe so you can really get down into the padding.

Works well on flooring, and sub floors, however I have some bare wood behind a wall that is still problematic. The company has excellent customer service and will guide you with the really tough problems.

It really works. I have a neutered male cat that at age 5 1/2 started spraying indoors. The indoor spraying happens most of the time during the night if a stray cat is in the yard. I use AIP to clean the urine off hard surfaces and then spray again and let it sit. I also have used it on carpet and upholstery and it worked, however, it might need to be sprayed a few times a day for two or three days to get rid of the urine - it depends on the type of material. You might want to put plastic or aluminum foil over the spot to keep it moist so the solution can continue it's work. I sat a shoe on top of the foil to keep it close to the material. I was just about to send my oriental rug to the trash but decided to continue with the treatment and it took over a week but don't ya know -- it finally worked!! Detailed instructions came with my order. I called customer service at one point and the gentleman was very helpful. He recommended not to steam clean the fabric so I waited until the odor was gone and sprayed AIP on the spot again and put my steamer on rinse with no steam and cleaned the spot again - probably not necessary. The odor is completely gone. The great thing about this stuff is it gets rid of the urine and doesn't just cover it up.
