5.0 out of 5 stars A tremendous fan!
Travelling through the states recently I stumbled across this smashing group. Truly astounding musical craftsmanship. I couldn't recommend these chaps more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Flamenco Bland
The music is OK but it sounds all the same as far as the samples of music are shown. It lacks fire, meaning and soul. Just another bunch of well meaning people trying to pull off some kind of popular commercial spanish/american music. If you want to hear great instrumental flamenco pop listen to the guitarist from the gypsy kings and how his instrumentals come off...

This review is from: Misterioso (Audio CD)
The combind work of Jim Stubblefield, J.P., and Liza Carbe is not only wonderful, it stands head and shoulders above much of what is out there in the world music scene. Passionate and firey, envoking and true to its name Misterioso is a must have CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars My introduction to Incendio, July 26, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Misterioso (Audio CD)
I first heard Incendio outside of a movie theater in Mission Viejo, CA. I was immediatly drawn to their energetic sound. My kids loved them also. They were dancing in the middle of the crowd. I knew I HAD to buy the CD. I love it. Very crisp, very sharp. The fusion of middle eastern and flamenco guitars makes for an incredible feel. Great job!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent experience!, April 10, 2001

This debut CD from Incendio is amazing. If you enjoy *any* type of guitar-oriented music, you'll love the progressive flamenco style that they have crafted. If you have the chance to catch them live, do so. The live performances are even better sicne you can actually say "Hi" the them and they appreciate that fact that your are part of thier audience. They are also able to exhibit the fire and skill that makes this CD sound so good! I've seen them live at lest 20-25 times at local gigs in southern California (originally as The Jim Stubblefield Group, and now as Incendio) and I am always impressed with the band. 5 stars all the way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent CD!!!!!!, July 20, 2001
This review is from: Misterioso (Audio CD)
I just learned about Incendio last year (2000), when they came to Bisbee and played a concert at the theatre I work at. I ran the lights for them. They played some of Jim's older songs and most of the songs from Misterioso. The music was amazing, its music that will get you dancing no matter what kind of mood your in. This CD is worth every penny you pay. Knowing the band personally makes it even better for me. If you get a chance to see them in concert do it its worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRAVISIMO!!!, June 22, 2001

WHOA! Talk about shredding, these folks are listed in Webster. Truly intoxicating rhythms and beats offer a tantalizing smorgasboard of journeys into the flamenco world. From soft, laid back "ambience" to thumping "techno", these guys can take you to either extreme. El Palenque will have you "swimming" in it. Strunz and Farrah wish they were this good. Sure wish these guys would take a road trip to Florida. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Encore! Encore!

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful complation, November 16, 2000

This is a beautifully arranged body of work centering on Jim Stubblefield's melodic guitar work. The true beauty of this album however is its eclectic approach to the music it sets forth. Each piece is done in a different style of guitar work, Every song is different and special in its own way, yet they also work as a whole, with pieces arranged so that they can fade soothingly into the background or surge up with all the spirit of the fire for which the group was named. Soft pieces like Gardens of Stone and Empezar mellow out the beat while the heavy spanish rhythms of Jaco y Paco and Festival de Luces will get you on your feet bouncing away. More over, Incendio resists the trend to set listeners from jumping to sleeping by rolling into some quick but quiet pieces like Emerald Sea and Misterioso. And for the fans of elecctronica, there is El Palenque, a beautiful fusion of middle eastern chants overlaying fast and furious guitar work to wrap it up.

To sum up, this album would nicely round out an ambiance collection to play on one of those quiet Sunday afternoons, or to set going with some work to do, but it is an absolute must own album for any fan of Spanish or Middle Eastern guitar work

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Music!, October 20, 2005
This review is from: Misterioso (Audio CD)
I purchased this CD because of one song in particular -- Jaco y Paco. The entire CD is awesome! Incendio offers a fresh and upbeat style of music that is a great listen. I've since seen the group play at a festival in Southern Utah and they are just as great live. You can't go wrong with this group.

5.0 out of 5 stars ....first rate...., March 31, 2001
This review is from: Misterioso (Audio CD)
If you enjoy nuevo flamenco style guitar playing or ever wished that Ottmar Liebert had a bit more heat and spice, this is definitely a CD worth listening to. The guitar playing is first rate and it is accentuated even further by upbeat arrangements and a great blend of varying instrumentation with harmonies that are absolutely incredible. Incendio's emphasis may be on the guitar, but they recognize the importance of the overall sound of their recordings. From flamenco guitar to strings to percussion, this recording has it all and then some. A first rate debut.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing musical experience!, January 9, 2001

This review is from: Misterioso (Audio CD)
I saw this band perform recently and these guys are burning. Jim and Jean-Pierre are both amazing guitar players. Although they have a similar sound to bands like Strunz and Farah or Jesse Cook, this band has a rock energy that really showcases the fire of the tunes! The CD has some really cool middle eastern grooves and even a pseudo Celtic-flamenco tune! I highly recommend this disc and the HDCD mastering is an added bonus for people that have this feature on their CD player. Can't wait for their next release.
