This is my favorite christmas song this year. I am still listening to it in January. I hope she makes more like this.

What Does This Have To Do With Mistletoe Again?,

This review is from: Mistletoe (MP3 Download)
I must admit, I am Colbie Caillat's biggest hater, but tis the holiday season, and Santa seems to have actually brought a good song from Caillat this year. I know, it's near-impossible, but hey, it's the season for miracles. The reflection of the song gives way for it being a nice tune to sip eggnog with a fire place going on Christmas Eve. Granted, you might fall asleep, but it makes for pleasant atmosphere nonetheless. The chorus is also decent.
However, Santa can only do so much, and the song partly gets its lyrics derived from other songs. Fake Plastic Mistletoe = see "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead I'm still standing here three feet small = see "'83" by John Mayer Familiar lyrics aside, there's the typical Caillat-type lyrics that don't fit, don't work, and are just plain amateurish, but she's done a lot worse. It also seems that the more I listen to this song... the more I like it... GASP! A pleasant reflective tune from most-everybody's favorite Malibu Barbie singer. It's her best song, which isn't saying much, but in all seriousness, it isn't half-bad. Now excuse me, I need to get some more eggnog... |
