May 1, 2007
Inspired by true events MISTRESS ME is a behind the scenes look at male athletes and the woman who have the privilege of bedding them. On the come up... Channing L. Golden has rapidly came up in the industry as a well sought after publicist among professional athletes thanks to the support of her twin brother and first round draft pick Chase Golden and her love interest fellow baller, Cartier Smith. As personal assistant and self-taught publicist to Chase, Channing is the president of the Talk To Me Right publicity and management agency. Her undeniable good looks, charisma, sex appeal and promiscuous reputation captures the attention of a very important star player in the league Alonzo "Zoe" Butler, leagues hotshot and oversexed ladies man. Everybody plays the fool sometimes... Alonzo says he's looking for someone with Channing's negotiating savvy and expertise; however he's really seeking a personal playmate. Married for six years Alonzo initiates a five year love affair with his publicist and together they conceive three children. When Alonzo's barren wife Sheila Butler follows her intuition and hires a private investigator to get the drop on her suspected cheating spouse she is disgustingly surprised to learn that her husbands mistress is Channing L. Golden one of the biggest undercover hoes in the industry. MISTRESS ME is a tale of the highly coveted life of the sports industry elite and manipulating socialites within the world of the NBA. About the Author

Venesha was adopted as a child and grew up in an upper middle class rearing. She attended the best private school in the area and received perfect grades. But before the age of eighteen she became distracted by the interest of star athletes and local shot callers in Milwaukee. Her personal life testimony confesses her experiences as a mistress for over two decades Mistress Me is not a tell-all confession book but a entertaining fiction novel inspired by the lifestyle of being the other woman in a professional athletes life. So many woman envied Venesha experiences and her novel tells the drama filled darker not so glamorous side of being the other woman in a high profiled affair. Venesha is the proud mother of two underaged young girls and is not one to kiss and tell.

5.0 out of 5 stars Write Your Vision & Make It Plain, June 15, 2009
This review is from: Mistress Me (Paperback)
Venesha, is not just one of the many contributors to the growing genre that is the Urban Lit. She is one of the very few authors that can introduce you to herself as well as her characters. Venesha's writing style makes you proud she decided to follow her dream. With her detailed wording she makes her characters relatable while sewing mustard seeds of envy. Her stories of delectables like driving fancy cars, elaborate spending and meaningful yet deceitful sexual adventures are stories those not familiar with "the life" could only dream of participating in. Though Venesha is adamant Mistress Me, is not a tell-all, it reads as though the actresses Lisa Raye and Gabby Union had a lot to get off their respective chests. Allegedly!

Mistress Me is a great and exciting read. Should you need a break from the gun play, hood speak and use of profanity that dominates the genre and want to enjoy a book that sparks hood intelligent while never allowing you to lose your hoodstincs this is one to add to your library.

5.0 out of 5 stars All Is Fair in Love and Basketball, May 13, 2008
This review is from: Mistress Me (Paperback)
Venesha has taken the game of being a sideline ho to the next level with her stunning debut novel, Mistress Me. A candid look at behind the scenes action, this Hollyhood tale is filled with drama, action, lust and more desinger clothing than the law should allow. Read along as the lives of some of the movers and shakers in the NBA world take a whirlwind ride to hell and back leaving the reader to ask: "Is all really fair in Love and Basketball..." you're damn right! Venesha is definitely one to watch in 2008 as I look forward to reading her next release, Notorious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Venesha changed the game, March 4, 2008
This review is from: Mistress Me (Paperback)
While other urban fiction writers were creating tales of drug dealers and killers, Venesha breaks out with a story about a woman who is messing around with a married NBA player. Now, that was all I needed to crack open the book but the drama, drama, and more drama keep me reading until the end. This story is well-written and innovative. I think it's an excellent debut and imagine Venesha's off to a great career.
