4.0 out of 5 stars The Mistress's Child by Sharon Kendrick (Harlequin Mills & Boon), May 17, 2006

This book is connected to Kendrick's 'Surrender to the Sheikh' and contains some of the same characters. Philip Caprice and Prince Khalim became friends when they were at University together, and Philip later worked for the Prince in Maraban during the years that Lisi was a single mother raising the child Philip had fathered. Prince Khalim, his wife Rose, and their infant son Prince Aziz make brief appearances in this story ...

Description from the book back cover:

Her baby secret ... On the night when Philip Caprice and Lisi Vaughan fell into bed together, Philip left at midnight ... The reason he gave for leaving so early prevented Lisi from telling him that their evening of passion had resulted in a darling baby boy called Tim. Until now ... nearly four years later, property millionaire Philip has just returned to the village of Langley and discovered he has a son ... Lisi knows Tim is crying out for a dad - but she can't bear to share custody with Philip. His solution is that Lisi and Tim move in with him ... Does Philip just want to play at happy families - or does he want Lisi to be his mistress once again?

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read, February 6, 2011
By
S Brown "S Brown" (Sunrise, Fl United States) - See all my reviews
Of the 3 books in the 'London's Most Eligible Playboys' trilogy, this one is my favorite. The characters were better developed and the storyline more believable.

In so many of these Harlequin books, we find a heroin struggling to raise a child on her own and not informing the child's father for no good reason than they want distance from the man. In this book, she has a good reason. After their one night together, Philip tells Lisi that he's married then storms out of the room and she never hears from him again.

The story centers around what happens after Philip breezes back into town after 4 years, discovers he has a son, and how he nourishes a relationship between mother and child after the fallout.

All in all, a pleasant read.
