5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best, March 31, 2006

This collection by Dorothy Moore is one of the best cd's I've ever heard. Most double cd's may have 8 songs you really love. Out the 37 of these, at least 34 are just fantastic. It was well worth the money. I only wished "Sometimes It Got To Rain In Your Love Life" was apart of it.

A Great Album! Moore's voice is rich and expressive, her material first rate. She will always be remembered for the hit "Misty Blue" but there is an amazing amount of quality rhythm and blues numbers here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alchoholics Beware - Misty Blue Can Lead To Excessive Drinking!!, March 28, 2006

If ever there was a drown-yourself-in-your-liqour-and-blues type of song ... "MISTY BLUE" is it! If your ever in ready to have a tear-jerking pity-party, "MISTY BLUE" will set it off! That song plus a glass of some brown liquor (pick your favorite poison) is the perfect way to unload your grief when you're missing some one really, really bad. Just don't drive or operate heavy machinery afterwards!

5.0 out of 5 stars Soulfull Music at its best, December 18, 2011

I simply love this album and wow, it has all the hits of a fantastic artist. If you love soul music this one is for you. This double album is loaded with more than 30 songs. It is well worth the price. It does not sound like "old", it still sounds very relevant today. It is the words in the music that makes a difference.
I would suggest you make this album part of your soul collection. It will not be out of place at all.
Dorothy Moore has quite a few "Best of" or "greatest hits" albums but this one is miles ahead of the rest.

Dorothy Moore's "Misty Blue" is most definitely a CLASSIC ballad which sounds as great today as it did back in 1976. I must, say, however, that this CD sounds great from beginning to end and includes such other great songs like "Funny How Time Slips Away" and "Enough Woman Left To Be Your Lady". Dorothy sings with such passion, conviction and heartfelt sincerity that it's amazing she never made the transition from cult favorite to bonafide R&B superstar Diva. Nonetheless, if you like warm, heartfelt and passionate Soul music...you'll love this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funky blues, December 12, 2000

One of the many records my father raised me on has remained a favorite listening pleasure. Dorthy Moore's smokey blues rap and singing, matches perfect with Malaco's first attempt to delve into the Funk/Soul that was popular at the time. Songs like "Dark End of the Street," "Laugh It Off," and "Ain't That A Mother's Luck" best exemplify the range in which gospel/blues/funk are stretched. And of course, the title song is the commercial gem of this album and Dorthy Moore's career.
