Dorothy Moore is One of Those Exceptions; A Loyal Artist who Spent Almost her Entire Career Signed to Malaco Records in Jackson, Mississippi. In Fact it was her International Hit "misty Blue" which Provided the Impetus for Malaco to Move from a Production Company to a Bona Fide Record Company. Ironically the Fact that They Couldn’t Place the Recording of "Misty Blue" with an Established Label Led them to Press and Distribute the Record Themselves. This Double Album, Once Again Compiled by Ian Dewhirst the Founder and Compiler of the Master Cuts Series, who Has Brought Together a Wonderful Collection of her Most Beautiful Soul Ballads from the Malaco Archives. Her Pure Emotion is Just a Joy to Listen to and "misty Blue" Has to One If the Songs of the Century. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

This collection by Dorothy Moore is one of the best cd's I've ever heard. Most double cd's may have 8 songs you really love. Out the 37 of these, at least 34 are just fantastic. It was well worth the money. I only wished "Sometimes It Got To Rain In Your Love Life" was apart of it.

A Great Album! Moore's voice is rich and expressive, her material first rate. She will always be remembered for the hit "Misty Blue" but there is an amazing amount of quality rhythm and blues numbers here.

If ever there was a drown-yourself-in-your-liqour-and-blues type of song ... "MISTY BLUE" is it! If your ever in ready to have a tear-jerking pity-party, "MISTY BLUE" will set it off! That song plus a glass of some brown liquor (pick your favorite poison) is the perfect way to unload your grief when you're missing some one really, really bad. Just don't drive or operate heavy machinery afterwards!
