I have a copy of the previous edition and found it so helpful that I wanted the 4th edition. I am the mother of a child (now a grown man) with learning disabilities (experience has shown that it is never just one). I homeschooled for 7 years and am now a certified teacher for ESE students. I found the previous edition while "subbing" for another ESE teacher years ago. I have recommended this book to others because it is concise, easy to read and very helpful. I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 because the author does tend to spend more time on ADD and ADHD. Still, the book has been "spot on" for many of the tendencies and traits I have found in many of my students and my own child and I have found the advice very helpful. I only wish that I had come in contact with this book earlier so that I could have helped my child more.

By the way, I have been ordering from Amazon for several years now and have never had a problem - knock on wood! :o)

I attended a seminar in reference to students going to college. I learned about this book at that time. Had I had the knowledge 4 years earlier, my son would not have suffered with all the struggling from his unidentified learning disabilities. This book really assists with knowledge about what these kids have to overcome.

I read an earlier edition of this book borrowed from the library. I was pleased to see a new edition on Amazon.com which I purchased to give to my daughter-in-law. She has found it very helpful in understanding her children's and siblings' learning problems.
