The book outlines some basic ideas and principles for doing some aftermarket upgrades to 1G and 2G eclipses. It gives some good tips and some dos and don'ts, but it doesn't really go into detail. This book would be good for someone that really doesn't know anything about performance increases for an eclipse.

I bought this book based on the writeup which states it covers "all makes and models 90-99." The book does a good job covering the models with the turbocharged Mitsubishi 4363 motor, but that's it. It does not cover, at all, any of the earlier non turdo Mitsubishi engines or the later models with the Chrysler 420A engine.

Ah the famous bond of Mitsubishi and Chrysler that manufactured one of (if not the) most famous of all the tuning cars! These cars were the reason so many jumped into the import tuning scene and this book covers that history. And has some nice info on maintenance, tuning and upgrading. I'd say the book is more for the novice to mid-level DSMer but everyone who's an enthusiast will enjoy the book. And at the price it's selling for...it's a no brainer ;)

I'm an amateur mechanic and I recently invested in a 1G into a 2G car nobody else wanted to touch (even if I couldn't get it running I could still make money parting it out.) The wire harness needed a lot of work, and a Chilton's book (also bought here) helped me connect things back up. But the Chilton's book covers stock configurations, I needed info about the wire mods this car needed. This book had that info and I'm very happy. This book also helped me understand why the engine was swapped in the first place. If you have one of these cars and want more performance you can't go wrong with this book. Skip to the third chapter if you're an advanced mechanic.
