I tried to get a manual from Chilton, but they never had one for my model and year car. Thanks to the Haynes manual I can do most basic services on my car like brakes, belts, tune-ups. etc. and save money from taking it to the shop. The steps are easy to follow, but there could be more pictures. You also need to have above average mechanical skills to understand how to do many of the procedures.

I bought a used 2002 Galant not too long ago and this book has been great. Every time something goes wrong, using this book along with some internet research lets me fix the problem myself. Although the pictures can be vague at times, the manual is very detailed in repairing/replacing nearly everything in your Galant.
