5.0 out of 5 stars Great TV if you clean the insides, December 14, 2009

This review is from: Mitsubishi 62 Inch DLP Rear Projection HDTV Ready (Electronics)
We've had this set now for about 4+ years. Have replaced the bulb once (got the bare bulb from a Hong Kong site on eBay; about $80).

The set performs brilliantly--for about a year. Then you get the sense that something's not quite right. Here's the fix: get a screwdriver and remove all the screws in back holding the front screen in place. Don't forget the 4 screws in front and make sure you disconnect the connector for the control buttons in front.

When you carefully lift off the screen and set it aside, you will be amazed by the amount of dust on the small mirror at the bottom of the cavity. Carefully clean it and the lens, then replace the screen. You will not believe the difference this makes.
