Users are finding new applications daily for the new PK20 LED DLP® PocketProjector™. This is the second generation of Mitsubishi's award-winning, micro-sized portable projector. With an ultra-wide lens, the PK20 has one of the shortest image throw distances of mobile projectors on the market today. Powerful enough to project a 60-inch image, you can easily create a 20-inch diagonal screen with just over a foot of projection distance. If you’re a sales executive, trainer, gamer, traveler, or camper, you can take the "big screen" right along with you. Or use it at home for digital photo or video shows.

Here’s What’s New in this Ultimate Portable Projector
This class of projectors is so new that Mitsubishi has made a special effort to listen to how you’re using this unique presentation product, and then respond with new features. First, the PK20 expands its portability by adding an SD card flash memory reader for on-the-fly photo sharing or presentations. Next, the projector uses a combination of Texas Instruments' Digital Light Processing® and LED technology to increase brightness by 150 percent compared to the original PocketProjector (PK10). You’ll see greater detail and increased clarity too, with a boost in contrast ratio to 1000:1. And they added audio in and out, as well as a tripod attachment.

Battery Operated to Go With All Your Mobile Devices
Even where there’s nowhere to plug in, the battery-powered PocketProjector™ offers SVGA (800x600) resolution. This projector also includes RCA video, S-video and VGA inputs, plus stereo mini-jack audio in/out to connect to your PDA*, portable DVD player, laptop computer, digital camera* or video game console*. Like their first PocketProjector™, the new PK20 offers instant on/off control, virtually noiseless operation, and no bulb replacement.

Feature List
Small, lightweight, and battery operated Small and light enough to fit in the palm of your hand. With its convenience in size, weight and optional battery operation, you can have the ability to instantly project a big screen image anytime and anywhere.
LED light source Convenience of having a cooler operating projector with a long light lifespan – helping to save on cost and time due to projector maintenance.
Optional battery No dependencies on electrical outlets, or have to deal with cable or room limitations. Can use it anywhere.
Instant projection Experience no warm up delays, so you can spend more time enjoying your images rather than waiting for your images.
Flexible connectivity Includes multiple connectivity options so you don't have to be limited to typical tiny displays (i.e. digital cameras, gaming consoles, dvd players, notebooks, etc).
SD card reader and audio For convenient on the fly photo sharing or presentations.

If you find this unit at a reasonable price, especially with the battery attachment, nab it. You'll be the envy of all who see it. I'd give this unit 4.5 stars.

Pros:
- no need to replace lamp (ever)...this feature is worth the price of the projector alone
- amazingly small
- 7'x5' (or smaller) image
- simple menus
- tripod mountable makes it very portable & easy to adjust size & position
- excellent for DVD movies
- project image on walls (don't need the hassle of having a screen)
- very silent
- auto shut-off if no signal detected

Cons:
- can't adjust size of the picture to fit screen, except by moving unit
- Lights overwhelm the picture
- no standby mode...will not turn on automatically if signal detected
- pain to fit to a screen

Wishlist
- more powerful/multiple LED
- more adjustments

5.0 out of 5 stars Great projector but smaller picture size than dimmer PK-20, April 30, 2007

Purchased and returned 2 of these. I own a PK-10 which is supposed to be same unit ony dimmer. PK-10 will focus at up to a 120" picture size. This projector will only focus up to 60". I know that literature says that max size is 60" but so does literature for PK-10. Even though this unit is brighter and should be able to produce a better picture at 120" it will not as it is unable to focus at this size as dimmer PK-10 can.

One word of warning, Mitsubishi tech support informed me that this projector along with the PK-10 is disposeable. Nothing within projector including LED module is repairable or replaceable even at service center or factory.

As all the info on this projector states that picture size should not exceede 60" I cannot rate down for that. If you are looking for a small LED projector that will project 60-120" then look for a now discontinued PK-10 - however I would suggest only buying new and get an extended warranty due to the lack of replaceability of parts in this projector.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very handy but handicapped..., May 12, 2007

This review is from: Mitsubishi PK20 PocketProjector (Electronics)
This portable projector has proven itself extremely handy for small group presentations in small confined spaces. I have used it with the PC for Powerpoint presentations, with the DVD player and even tried it out with home theater equipment. It isn't quoted as one of the most luminous projectors, obviously. Perhaps the trade-off is with its portability. If that's what you want, this is it! If you need light, because you do your presentations in semi-dark environments, you will need a stronger projector.

Looking back, I should have bought something less portable but with more power for the same price, since I do a lot of classroom work.
