If you find this unit at a reasonable price, especially with the battery attachment, nab it. You'll be the envy of all who see it. I'd give this unit 4.5 stars.
Pros: - no need to replace lamp (ever)...this feature is worth the price of the projector alone - amazingly small - 7'x5' (or smaller) image - simple menus - tripod mountable makes it very portable & easy to adjust size & position - excellent for DVD movies - project image on walls (don't need the hassle of having a screen) - very silent - auto shut-off if no signal detected Cons: - can't adjust size of the picture to fit screen, except by moving unit - Lights overwhelm the picture - no standby mode...will not turn on automatically if signal detected - pain to fit to a screen Wishlist - more powerful/multiple LED - more adjustments

Great projector but smaller picture size than dimmer PK-20,

Purchased and returned 2 of these. I own a PK-10 which is supposed to be same unit ony dimmer. PK-10 will focus at up to a 120" picture size. This projector will only focus up to 60". I know that literature says that max size is 60" but so does literature for PK-10. Even though this unit is brighter and should be able to produce a better picture at 120" it will not as it is unable to focus at this size as dimmer PK-10 can.
One word of warning, Mitsubishi tech support informed me that this projector along with the PK-10 is disposeable. Nothing within projector including LED module is repairable or replaceable even at service center or factory. As all the info on this projector states that picture size should not exceede 60" I cannot rate down for that. If you are looking for a small LED projector that will project 60-120" then look for a now discontinued PK-10 - however I would suggest only buying new and get an extended warranty due to the lack of replaceability of parts in this projector.

Very handy but handicapped...,

This portable projector has proven itself extremely handy for small group presentations in small confined spaces. I have used it with the PC for Powerpoint presentations, with the DVD player and even tried it out with home theater equipment. It isn't quoted as one of the most luminous projectors, obviously. Perhaps the trade-off is with its portability. If that's what you want, this is it! If you need light, because you do your presentations in semi-dark environments, you will need a stronger projector.
Looking back, I should have bought something less portable but with more power for the same price, since I do a lot of classroom work.

Wonderful projector,

This is a cool little projector.. I have it since 2 weeks now..It has all the features of a huge bulky projectors.. the best part is it's size.. it does not look like a projector it is so small. It has the latest technology the LED bulbs.. no need to change the bulb often as conventional projectors. the downside is that it cannot be used in a bright lit room. However when the projector is placed at 10 degrees .. the image looks stretched on top and squeezed at bottom..I am not able to make it a proper rectangle. Over all I am happy with this product.

Excellent TV projector!,
This review is from: Mitsubishi PK20 PocketProjector (Electronics)
I have been using the PK20 to watch DVD movies on a big screen (7 foot diagonal!) The room has to be somewhat dark, as at that large of a display, the brightness isn't enough for a lit room.
The unit was easy to set up and use and I love that fact that it is much quieter than standard bulb projectors. It also stays cool, so it doesn't need a cool-down period after use. I have also displayed my laptop's output on it and that works well, also.

for the price especially compared to your typical projector this is the working mans home theater solution. While the unit looks best projected at a medium distance it does offer decent picture when blown up bigger. The controls are excellent with an included sound source albeit tiny.
I use this to game, watch DVD,s, slideshows its clarity is what I expected for its size and price range. I really like the idea of using one these for outdoor guerilla screenings etc.. if I could get enough scratch together for the expensive and sadly not included BATTERY. It will do what you expect a projector to do from computer to Video game source these units offer S-Video/SVGA connection as the best output but RCA looks really good when you play with the sharpness. An XBOX 360 with VGA cable looks amazing through this unit and is my choice for viewing DVDs in near HD clarity. The fan can be loud after a bit of use but the unit stays cool throughout projection. This is a good projector choice and I am surprised there aren't more units like this on the market. Kudos Mitsubishi for making a projector for the people.

Better than PK10 and can do a big screen,
This review is from: Mitsubishi PK20 PocketProjector (Electronics)
Another reviewer here states that this product cannot focus at larger than 60". My projected image is 6' from one side to the other, and the image is great and FOCUSED. I wanted to set the record straight, because I was almost dissuaded from getting the pk20 thanks to his comments. I have 2 other projectors, an ancient powerlite 7300 and a newer acer dlp projector, and this projector is actually better, image wise and quality wise. Incredible! This is more than adequate for vga and tv watching in a home theatre setup. Poor man indeed, it looks great to me! With all projectors a dark room is better, even with a higher end projector (the acer) I still used a darkened room. Also, you can loosen the 'elevator' foot screw and use it to ceiling mount the projector (due to its light weight) without blowing $$ on an overpriced ceiling mount. I give this projector an A+. Even the 800x600 res isnt that bad its kind of nice to have larger text when websurfing and my favorite game (age of empires 3) scales perfectly and looks fine in that res. And being able to run this without worrying about paying 25 cents/hour (what most lamps cost for other projectors) AND it only uses 25 watts/hour vs. 250 watts for my acer.(great since I m on solar power- I measured the power consumption with my handy kilowatt electricity meter) How can you beat this? Oh and the short throw distance means I can ceiling mount it 9 ft from the screen and not worry about my head getting in the way. This is THE best deal you ll ever find (for now) on a projector!!

Great Tiny Project for Low Light Conditions,
This review is from: Mitsubishi PK20 PocketProjector (Electronics)
This project is awesome in smaller environments with low lighting. It is not the projector to use as a main projector for larger meetings in brightly lit rooms. With that said, the SD Memory card feature is awesome, so I use this to show photo slide shows to relatives. In my small conference room at work, this is perfectly adequate for meetings of under a dozen people. I think this projector is ideal if your intention is to exploit for the following situations:
Lightweight - if you travel frequently and present to small groups or can put what you present on an SD memory card.... this is great because it doesn't require a laptop... If you have smaller group meetings where the device can be positioned relatively close to the screen/wall If you have low light or dark conditions The drawbacks to this projector are it size limitation.... I get up to around 7 feet of diagonal image in the dark. But this is adequate, not great. At around 50 inches, it works well, but again in lower light. If you have normally lit office, this won't cut it. If you can position this thing close to the screen (within about 6 feet, you will also have difficulty.

Home Theatre with $0 Upkeep,
By
This review is from: Mitsubishi PK20 PocketProjector (Electronics)
Let me start by saying I refuse to pay upkeep on a projector. I'm FINE with low contrast ratio or even the 800x600 resolution. Sure it's dim. Whatever! It looks amazing in a mildly-darkened room, even from 10' away. Lumens are overrated. Running cost (energy + bulb) is king. If you agree with me so far, read on.
I bought a PK20 about 6 months ago as a replacement for my old JVC-G11 style home theatre projector, taking a hit in terms of both resolution and brightness. My old projector was near-HD resolution and extremely bright -- almost movie-theatre quality, but was LOUD and COSTLY. 1,000 hr bulbs were MSRP $1000, and usually sold for $550. INSANE cost! At that price, why even bother renting movies when you could pay almost the same price to see one in the theatre!? With the recent introduction of LED projectors, you can finally say SCREW-OFF! to the bulb manufacturers, milking home theatre hobbyists with every viewing. With this baby, I've played all the PS2, PS3, PC games, and movies I want without ever having to worry about a bulb! I leave this thing on all day and forget about it. I cannot describe how good it feels to finally relax while I'm enjoying a movie, knowing that I'm not paying insane prices for proprietary bulbs. I cannot stand that. I refuse. Sorry. For people who don't mind bulb upkeep, I do not understand you. Resolution is 800x600, so there is some downconverting on PS3 games and Blu-Ray, but it's not too bad. 800x600 may not be HDTV, but it's better than standard TV, so I'm happy! With the amazingly clear picture and awesome results from this projector, I have no worries that HDTV LED projectors will come out eventually. Meanwhile, I have no problem waiting for resolution on these to advance (while I enjoy this magificent 92"-diagonal image!). That said, I have a few problems with it -- the optics are cheap: No optical keystoning or panamorphing; runs hot & loud in high-power mode; the remote needs a line-of-sight; doesn't scale over/under-sized images in all cases. But these few complaints don't negate the 90% success rate with my media, nor the consistently beautiful images blasting onto the screen. In conclusion, this little projector is NOT just some portable device. It humbly conceals its power as a fantastic home theatre projector. It's quiet, compact, full of options, and does the job with ZERO dependence on proprietary bulbs. Well worth the cost, even at MSRP.
