i have the Mitsubishi WD-60C9 i purchased it new 4years ago and its been thru 3 moves.....and i new at some point i would have to replace the light .. first if you can turn a screwdriver you can do this ..one word of warning ... my old bulb became really dim so i thought i would let it cool off and see if i could make it last till my new bulb got here ... bad idea .. i turned it off and it never turned back on till i installed the new bulb.. i hope this helps someone out there..and i would also suggest if you do not have the energy setting on standard i would definitely do that. it might help you even more .in fact thats the reason i feel my first bulb lasted so long.since i am not able to work . i watch alot of tv this tv has literally been on the entire last 4 years both day and nite. as far as the bulb goes i ordered it online at 9pm on monday and UPS had it here by wed at 10am and i live in rural arkansas ... once here i carefully unpacked it .turn off the tv. you simply take off 1screw on the cover over the light housing and the loosen the 2 screws on the bulb housing .FYI. they do not come all the way out .... the are mounted into the housing . so just unscrew them till they are totally loose . simlpy pull it out the old bulb housing "careful if the tv was on it may be quite hot"and " do not touch the actual bulb in the new bulb housing with your fingers the oil from your skin will damage the life of the bulb drastically" then insert the old one ...one other word of caution . after pulling out the bulb i saw there was some dust build up inside the housing ... after reading several articles . it seems the people who blew out the housing had... by mouth or canned air..Read more ›

I bought a replacement bulb from Mitsubishi and received a brand new housing and bulb.
I then purchased this as a back up. Both received at the same time so I compared. The only difference I saw between the two was the housing and the overall packaging. The mistu was properly boxed and secured. The generic wasn't. I decided to install this bulb to see if it would last as long and worth the money. So far so good.

My only complaint is that it should state that while the bulb is new it's in a recertified housing. Also it was just in a bag and packed in peanuts. Really should be packaged a little better even if it costs a few more $$$.

Order was fulfilled promptly and overall I'm satisfied. I've gotten almost 2 years of use in the original bulb. Our tv is on a lot so it does get its use. Since I had the cabinet apart, I installed another fan outside the tv and connected it to our htpc which has a USB charging port. This way I can keep the lamp a little cooler. If the bulb lasts as long will definitely buy again.

Good purchase, fast shipping, satisfied buyer.

Bought this about a year ago. Writing the review now, just to say that it's going strong and I absolutely 100% would buy one again. This was super easy to replace, and my 60" TV keeps going strong now, thanks to Powerwarehouse.

To be fair, I knew what I was getting when I bought it. The item arrived quickly and in great packaging, and once installed worked perfectly. The case looked identical to the ~4 year old one I had just removed, complete with model numbers. After reading the reviews and seeing an average of 3 month life span, I decided to try this one out in the hopes that it would last longer since we don't watch much TV except when football and basketball seasons are in swing. This bulb was installed on 7/9 and made it right up until the warranty expired--10/2.

By comparison, the OEM replacement bulb I just bought ran about $85 and has a year warranty. By the time you buy enough of these cheap bulbs to last a year, you could have just purchased the OEM replacement. I would only recommend this for people who either don't use the TV much at all (under the 5 hours a week that I myself used it), or those needing a replacement in order to sell or make the set last until an upgrade. It gets a star for each month, and for not burning my house down during that time.

Attached are pics of the OEM, FI replacement, and OEM replacement. You can see the crack in the FI bulb.

This replacement lamp worked perfect after I installed it, not my husband. Couldn't feel more proud that it was simple to install. One question tho, before installing it, we were seeing white spots on our tv screen when turned on, and wondering what it was, it kept spreading. Now its much more spots even after installing the new lamp. My husband's eye sight is not very clear and one night he told me, "look at all the stars"? This is always when there was a dark background with the program that we were watching. I chuckled and told him that "it was the same white spots but its accumulating more each time. Could anybody tell me if I need to replace a part to correct this? The TV is a 65" Mitsubishi HD and 3 years old. I found out that these newer TV's have Pixels and that this part for the Pixels might need replacing? We got use to seeing these white spots that it doesn't bother us, but I know it will when it gets worse. Feedback from anyone would be appreciated. Thank you!
