BUY THIS HDTV!,

This review is from: Mitsubishi WD-65736 65-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV (Electronics)
First, allow me to state that I am a long time Sony user (which is widely considered to make the best in televisions and other electronics). Well, this Mitsubishi HDTV can stand "toe to toe" with the Sony line, and it does it at a much lower price.
This television's High definition picture is awesome, and it's speakers are more than adequate!!! I have DIRECTV which only offers a 1080i signal (this television has an even better 1080p capability), and I am totally amazed with the crisp and clean picture. The picture is great from any angle and close up. You simply have to see it to believe it (especially if you like sports and movies). The cooling fan is extremely quiet too (can't hear it at all). IMPORTANT - It should be understood that this television is made for a HD signal (720p, 1080i, or 1080p). Due to the overwhelming size of the screen, non HD channels seem blurry, and almost not worth watching. So make sure you spend the extra money for the HD channel packages with your cable or satellite company. On a side note, this model also comes with an easy set up feature. It's a very nice... you simply plug in your dvd player, satellite receiver, Play Station, Xbox, whatever and it automatically senses it. It will ask you to verify that it is what it thinks it is, and that's it; no special programming or matching remotes. The television is extremely user friendly! If you plan on watching predominately high definition channels and movies, buy this tv! You won't be disappointed!!!

Magic in my living room,

Picture quality is great when you use HD - I have a good up-converter DVD player, and the movies look absolutely stunning. I am one of those backdated guys who is still not subscribed to HD content from my satellite provider and hence watch normal channels. The non-HD content has blurred lines, and poor picture quality, but that should not be counted against this TV as this TV is not designed for clarity while showing non-HD content.
The sound quality is average and muffled, but I route the audio to my home theater system, so I do not use the TV's audio. So no difference for me. May be because I tested the TV's audio AFTER getting used to the room shattering home theater system - and that made it sound poorer. For connecting computers - I was used to the VGA port on my earlier LCD, so slightly disappointed with no such thing here. If you do not have a laptop with DVI output, there is no easy way to connect it to this TV (there is S Video as an option if your laptop has S Video output, but I never liked the picture quality of S Video). That is why I am going to buy a VGA to Component Transcoder and see how it looks. I will update the review with the results. It has 4 HDMI inputs, technology to watch 3D movies with special glasses on, easy menu, 2 antenna inputs for your cable and local antenna wire, an excellent manual. I was surprised to find that the power chord does not have the 3rd earthing pin - seemed cheap of Mitsubishi to not provide one with such an elite line of product. Overall, it is a grand sight.

Great HDTV!,
This review is from: Mitsubishi WD-65736 65-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV (Electronics)
Purchased this television based on the many great reviews and definately was not disappointed. Incredible picture right out of the box. Had to make major changes to the audio settings but once completed, good sound as well but would highly recommend using a Surround Sound system to obtain the full benefits of the beautiful huge screen and theatre affects. Absolutely the best deal on an excellent HDTV out there!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mitsubishi WD-65736 65-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV (Electronics)
The seller claimed there was minor damage on this TV. My husband and I looked it over very carefully and the only damage we could find was to the shipping box! This HDTV is everything the seller claimed it to be and more. We are beyond pleased at our purchase.

As Advertised,
This review is from: Mitsubishi WD-65736 65-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV (Electronics)
I decided not to pony up the extra grand for the WD-65835, and while I can't exactly say what I'm missing, I couldn't imagine it being worth $1000 more. The set looks great out of the box, and after some tweaking, the colors are reasonably accurate, the black levels are acceptable, and the inputs are more than adequate.
On the negative side (these are really nit picks), I can see the rainbow effect, though it's not as bad as previous DLPs I've owned. I don't find it annoying, but it is there. It was a bit tricky to program the discrete input codes into my universal remote (Harmony 880) as the component and composite inputs share the same input setting, leaving the TV to decide which one is really in use (I know, it sounds confusing but you'll know what I mean if/when you get there). The built-in speakers sound awful, but you really should be listening to your movies on some real speakers through an external receiver, so that shouldn't be a consideration when buying this TV. All built-in TV speakers are junk... Other than that, the TV is great. Plenty of inputs (though I'd like to have had a DVI input for my media center), great picture, and it's CHEAP (by TV standards). I have no problems recommending this TV.

Great TV,
This review is from: Mitsubishi WD-65736 65-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV (Electronics)
Very happy with TV purchase. OneCall did exactly what they said they would do. The TV is brilliant and playing movies or games is like watching and playing for the first time. I see things that I have never seen or noticed before not all b/c of large screen but b/c picture is sharp. TV also picks up HD channels perfectly from the 3 major networks...NBC, CBS and ABC from standard antenna.
Only thing I didn't like was curb side delivery....the shipping company D+L (NOT OneCall) sent my item without allowing me to set up delivery time or day. They are not supposed to send out until you schedule a delivery time and day. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase.

Three words for this television: Awesome, Fantastic, Best! I now own 2 of these televisions (other is 73") and my friends who have large LCD and Plasma televisions are so jealous. They have all exclaimed how much better the picture is to watch on mine. I've had the 73" for about a year now and have had no problems. You can't go wrong with this television.

This is a fantastic TV. I purchased mine from OneCall, who got it to my house in 3 days. The television arrives in typical packaging: a box-over-crate with styrofoam padding. Even with the crate, the television is light and easy to manage, if not just slightly awkward due to it's sheer size. After un-boxing and removing the protective sheet foam from the television itself, you'll inevitably wonder, "Was my wife right... IS it too big?" Don't worry, that thought passes as quickly as it came. There really is no such thing as too big for TVs, after all.
Out of the box, the picture is great. Most people will probably be satisfied with the picture, but will mess with the controls just because they can. After calibration, though, it's stunning. The available controls in the user and service menu allow for an almost perfect calibration session. There was a very small compromise when it came to tint (the 835 series has PerfectTint, so if you're looking for perfection and don't mind paying a premium for a difference you won't really notice, you should look at that series), but otherwise it's as close to spec as possible. For HTPC owners, take note that there is no DVI connection, so be sure your video card has an HDMI out or that you pick up a DVI-HDMI adapter. Other than that, it has all the connections you'll need. The NetCommand IR works well with my IR components, including the DirecTV HD DVR. Although, it is a little slow. The slight reduction in button response is well worth not having to have an extra remote laying around and I have the added bonus of hiding all of my components. The two included IR emitters can control multiple devices. The television also has NetCommand HDMI, but I don't have any devices capable of utilizing it. My only complaint with this Mitsubishi is the included remote is poorly designed. Don't get me wrong, it works well. It's just clunky, ugly, and as ergonomic as a brick. The button layout is far from intuitive... it's backwards from most of the remotes I use. All my other remotes have channel numbers on the bottom, television controls (up, down, left, right, menu, volume, etc) in the middle, and player controls (play, rw, ff, stop, etc) on the top. This one is numbers on the top, television controls in the middle, and player controls on the bottom. All in all, remote aside, this is the TV you should buy if you're not caught up in the fad of paying 4 times more for the same size screen or paying the same for a 4 times smaller screen simply because you can hang it on the wall. I couldn't be more satisfied with the television. Well, if it had a built in beer keg...

3D HDTV,
This review is from: Mitsubishi WD-65736 65-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV (Electronics)
I've had this DLP for 3 years now and I will never get rid of it. Finally got my 3D glasses and now see what I've been missing and can't wait for more and more 3D titles to come out. If you're looking for an inexpensive 3d hdtv, this is the way to go. I used to have a sony bravia and traded it for this one. I've never regretted that decision. This is truly worth all the money and then some!

I bought this TV in Feb of 09, it might not have the same picture of the new LED-LCD 120hz tvs but it also does not coast $3,000 either. I payed 1500 at the time and now you see this line around 1,000 (Oct 10)and its just a great buy. Awesome picture, great size. the only down side is the sound is kinda week but with an HD tv you should have an HD receiver anyway. And if you have a small room, this TV will still work, because the new resolutions, Large TVs don't appear fuzzy like they used to when you are close. my couch is only 15 feet from this TV and no one complains about picture quality or oversize.
