3.0 out of 5 stars Not a lot of flash, but not a bad resource for the new knitter, November 23, 2007
This review is from: Mittens to Knit (Dover needlework series) (Paperback)
Most of the patterns in this book are two-needle mittens, which would appeal to the novice knitter. Not a lot of color pictures in this book, and no general knitting instructions (like how to cast-on, etc.) The knitter needs to have a solid foundation in basic knitting techniques to be able to execute the patterns in this book.

There are also some 4-needle patterns, but absolutely no instruction on knitting with double-pointed needles (circular knitting)--this is NOT the book to teach you how. If you are just beginning to learn this technique, the 4-needle patterns included in the book would be relatively simple to execute.

This book WOULD be a good resource for anyone involved in charity knitting, or knitting for church bazaars, etc. Most of the patterns would work up quickly, and can be made with yarns which are inexpensive and easy to obtain. There are patterns for men, women & children.

Not the most exciting book, but a useful book.
