5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty Muffins, Easy Recipes! July 24, 2009
Format:Hardcover
I recently purchased this book, finally had the opportunity to try a recipe yesterday and enjoyed it so much, made another batch of muffins today. The book is organized according to muffin type - there are regular muffins (carrot, chocolate chip, blueberry, etc.), fancy, celebratory muffins for special occasions, savory muffins (with veggies, meats, cheese) and my favorite at the end, healthy muffins. They all utilize common ingredients, and so far, they've come out tasty and moist (and don't last very long in this house)! I look forward to trying out more of these recipes, as I adore muffins!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best "Beginner" cookbook I've ever found! LOVE IT! June 30, 2011
Format:Hardcover
I received this cookbook for my birthday in December (yes, 6 months ago). I finally pulled it off the shelf last week and can't believe I let it sit unused for so long! I love to bake but get really frustrated by failed test batches. That has not been an issue with these recipes. First batch- Chocolate Chip Muffins (added 2 mashed bananas): PERFECT! My toddler loves them and my picky 11-year-old nephew couldn't get enough of them! Second batch- Cheese & Ham Muffins: Made these for church. Adults and kids were begging for more! I've shared this recipe with several friends. I love that there is a basic flour mix [2c. Flour, 1 T. Baking Powder, 1/8 t. (or a dash) Salt] and basic egg mix [2 eggs, 1 c. milk, 6 T. butter] that are standard for every recipe I've examined so far. I've made several bags of the basic flour mix to save a few minutes when ready to bake a quick batch. There are lots of tips in the front of the book for using alternatives for certain ingredients and a few basic techniques. Excellent cookbook for anyone wanting to get into baking or just looking for some quick muffin recipes!

5.0 out of 5 stars muffin cookbook November 8, 2009
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bake and take muffins to work frequently, and everyone asks for the recipes! I bought 2 of these books to give as gifts to those who bake..........
These are some of the best muffin recipes I have ever used, and they come with ideas for substitutes, like using half whole wheat flour to make them healthier.......... definitely great value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious muffins! A must have! September 14, 2011
By 3bats
Format:Hardcover
I purchased this muffin cookbook a week ago and already I have made, and my family has devoured, blackberry and apple, apricot and banana, crumble-topped cheese & chive muffins, and Halloween pumpkin muffins (sort of). I tweaked the pumpkin muffin recipe by adding cloves, cinnamon, & nutmeg(1/2 tsp for each) instead of pumpkin pie spice because I didn't have any. Also, instead of the Dulce de Leche I added cream cheese prior to baking. I put 1/2 the batter per muffin tin, added about 1/2 tsp vegan cream cheese to the center, & topped with the rest of the batter making sure the batter went to the edges sealing in the cream cheese. Delish!!! All four of the recipes were so easy to make and delicious to eat! Next to bake? Maybe dark chocolate ginger or rocky road chocolate muffins. It's just so hard to decide?!? I wanted to write a review because of some of the reviews that had complaints about there not being truly ONE mix. Don't let this deter you from purchasing this cookbook! For each of the 4 recipes I've made so far it's taken me less than 40 minutes from the time I start gathering my ingredients from the pantry to the time we start eating the muffins and that's with 20 minutes baking time & 5 minutes cooling! Plus factor in the fact that I'm not following the recipe exactly since my household is gluten/dairy/soy free so I'm having to adapt the recipes to accomodate the food issues. I love this cookbook so much that I too, like another reviewer, have purchased multiple copies to give away as gifts. One is for a friend of mine that's just beginning to bake; that's how easy the recipes are. Don't miss out on all these delicious recipes simply because the title might be a tad misleading.

This is a great book. I actually make bread instead so I double the cooking time. So far everything has been great......oh, I tend to double the eggs to get better texture. Great book, I'm going to buy one for my niece.

Really loved the simplicity of this format. The muffin recipes go from sweet to yummy savory....my personal favorite is the corn bread bacon muffins. They were a real hit with the grandsons.

3.0 out of 5 stars a good basic mix April 23, 2013
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book does just what it says it gives you a basic mix and 99 variations on that mix. Is it the best muffin recipe in the world? I don't think so. Is it a good place to get started? yes.
