There is no other way to describe this album except to say that Joe Claussell chose the right songs, the right mixes, worked the right cadence and sought the right sequence to take you on a spiritual journey from the heart. A double CD mixed compilation album, both Joe and Nitegrooves give you more bang for your buck. Joe mines the cornice where Afro Cuban rhythms meet House melodies. The music is at once deep, soulful and spiritual. Disc one's top tracks include:

Why does this album work? Joe's secret technique of playing a song in its entirety - working the beginning, middle and end, set a soothing mood for a soulful journey. This album is so hot, you'll need oven mitts to handle it. If you dig deep house, seek soothing vocals and ride tribalistic rhythms, you'll cop four (4) copies of this album, one each for the Lex, the Coup, the Beema and the Benz. Bravo Joe!

Brilliant! Very typical of Clausell.....but if your viewing this CD, then probability has it that you already know that. Definitely a must, especially if you like deeper, soulful, acid-jazzy house. Enjoy!

Please don't die without listening to this. Joe Claussell places the spiritworld right in yo earhole. Purchase anything with his name on it (FOR REAL!)

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! I bought this on English import at more than twice the Amazon price - never again - but it's even worth 18 pounds: nice, funky, African-influenced house on a Spiritual Life tip. Can get monotonous over long periods. Expect different mixes of the same track, and don't expect complete tracks from artists such as Dimitri from Paris and Kerri Chandler; they're represented by little more than instrumental snippets (esp. Dimitri, which opens the set with a 7 second sound effect!)

Maybe my first review was too foul or something. This african influenced house music is on it's way and Joe is leading the pack. Keep it up Joe, to the roots...

This diamond chunk of music has been ssooo hard to find in the recent past. I paid alot more for my copy once I finally found one that I could afford,... but I have never gotten tired or stopped enjoying this double disc set!! Its the music, THE DRUMS!, but very importantly the arrangement. It feels so right,...so organic/orgasmic actually!

This cd takes your soul on a journey... love it! I plan to purchase more of his cd's really soon... Joe is the truth!!!
